I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 252

"Isn't it the truth?" Hayden asked.

Zoe stared at them. They looked like a pair of dogs mating in publicโ€”completely devoid of morals or basic decency.

She seriously wanted to curse them out.

Her marriage to Hayden was a fantasy?

Was he out of his mind?

Zoe stood next to Garrett, entirely unbothered and unyielding.

"Whether Mr. Thorne is right or not, I don't care. But no matter how shameless I might be, I'd never stoop to sleeping with my brother-in-law. And no matter how blind Mr. Stone might be, he'd never seduce his sister-in-law. Unlike you, Vice President Winters. You play dirty, but you still expect to be treated like a lady.

"I think the only one with delusions here is you. Bragging to Professor Layne about being someone's wife? You really are sick. By the way, Grandmother Thorne's birthday banquet is tomorrow. What a coincidence, I received an invitation too."

Zoe usually couldn't be bothered to waste breath on trash, but Sienna was a special kind of vile. Letting her off the hook would be a disservice to the universe.

"Since you're so righteous and confident, tomorrow is the perfect opportunity. You and Mr. Thorne are such tragic, star-crossed lovers. Why don't you use the banquet to announce your epic romance to the world?"

Zoe kept smiling. A smile so sharp it made Sienna's heart pound in panic.

"If you don't go public, who knows? I might get upset and start blurting out the truth. Isn't that right, Mr. Thorne?"

Zoe's eyes flashed with a clear warning.

If Hayden didn't leash his woman, he shouldn't blame her for playing dirty.

Weren't they obsessed with their reputations and saving face?

Her reputation had been dragged through the mud years ago. If they pushed her into a corner while Hayden dragged his feet on the divorce, she would absolutely hand out photocopies of their marriage certificate to every guest at the banquet.

Sienna's smug face burned as if she had been violently slapped.

Zoe couldn't be bothered with them anymore. She turned to Garrett.

"Shall we go?"

Seeing that Zoe had no intention of exposing the truth on the spot or claiming her title as Mrs. Thorne, Garrett decided it wasn't his place as an outsider to intervene in their family drama.

Sienna's perfect mood was completely ruined.

She glared venomously at Zoe and Hayden's retreating backs.

"Is Garrett really falling for her? How could someone with Zoe's background ever match the Kendall family's military and political prestige?"

Hayden's face was freezing cold. He had noticed Zoe lingering at the men's luxury counter earlier. He pulled his arm from Sienna's grasp and walked over there.

Confused by his sudden movement, Sienna quickly followed him.

"What did that lady just buy?"

The clerk recognized Hayden and didn't dare hide anything.

"Mr. Thorne, Ms. Lynd bought a men's tie clip and a pair of silver cufflinks. It was the exact set you were looking at last time. She bought the whole set."

The rigid tension in Hayden's jaw relaxed slightly.
