I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 256

Hayden moved with blinding speed, scooping up Holden, whose nose was bleeding profusely, and rushed away from the table.

Sienna was in absolute panic, and the crowd descended into chaos.

Grandmother Thorne pulled back the hand she had been reaching out to Zoe.

Something happened to Holden?

"What's going on?" the old lady demanded.

A servant quickly answered.

"The young master's nose suddenly started bleeding out of nowhere, and it won't stop."

With her great-grandson in trouble, Grandmother Thorne lost the mood for her grand announcement.

She couldn't abandon her own party, so she forced herself to keep the atmosphere stable.

"Everyone, please continue enjoying yourselves. It's just a minor issue."

Zoe hadn't really noticed the old lady's approach, but Garrett did.

"Was Grandmother Thorne coming to see you just now?"

Zoe hadn't sat with the Thorne family. Instead, she had kept a low profile beside Garrett.

She had no idea what was going on, and she honestly didn't care.

She hadn't even prepared a gift for today. She figured she would wait until the guests cleared out to offer her blessings and tell the old lady her real gift would arrive in a couple of weeks.

Arthur Kendall Sr. cared deeply for Grandmother Thorne. His eyes followed her every move.

But he was even more invested in his grandson.

Garrett had never brought a woman around before.

Arthur hadn't met Zoe, but seeing how gorgeous, appropriately dressed, and refined she was, he knew she was a proper lady.

The only hiccup was the kid.

Arthur's feelings were a mess.

Rumors in their circle always claimed Garrett liked men.

At the very least, seeing a woman sitting next to his eldest grandson was a massive relief.

Wait. Could it be?

Arthur's imagination ran wild. Did they have a secret love child?

Arthur finally broke the ice with Zoe and Garrett.

"Garrett, who's your girlfriend? Aren't you going to introduce her to your grandfather?"

As long as she existed, was breathing, and was a woman, he didn't care.

Watching his grandson approach thirty with zero romantic prospects had him so desperate he was practically ready to grab someone off the street for a wedding.

But right now, he tried to play it cool.

Even if she was a divorcee, he'd happily accept her.

Garrett and Zoe both froze.

Garrett quickly laughed to clear the air.

"Grandfather, you've got it wrong. Zoe isn't my girlfriend. She's already married."

Arthur was stunned. Hearing the word "married," he swung between shock and sheer delight.

"Really? So it's an affair? Stealing someone else's wife?"

"..."

Zoe looked mortified. Garrett knew his grandfather could act like an oversized child sometimes.

Fearing Zoe would misunderstand, he rushed to clarify.

"No... It's absolutely not what you're thinking..."

But Arthur cut him off entirely.

After hoping for so many years, his grandson had finally found a woman.

An affair was fine!
