I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 27

Before the manager could explain, the staff member panicked and blurted out the truth.

"It was the other Mrs. Thorne, the one Mr. Thorne brought in personally! He just bought out an entire rack of clothes for her. Mr. and Mrs. Thorne looked so deeply in love, we were all dying of envyβ€”"

Mrs. Winters's aristocratic face instantly frosted over. A mix of shock and anger laced her tone. "What kind of nonsense are you spouting?"

Her sharp voice made Sienna frown as well, and the store manager looked absolutely terrified.

The only recognized 'Mrs. Thorne' in this social circle in New York was Sienna Winters. The only others were the elder Mrs. Thorne and Grandmother Thorne of the main estate.

These boutique employees didn't interact with high-society circles often and lacked tact, leaving the manager sweating bullets.

Sienna, however, remained composed, smiling gently. "Ms. Finch, could you show me the security footage? I'm quite curious to see who this other Mrs. Thorne is."

The manager couldn't afford to offend either the Winters or the Thorne families. Sienna was not only the Winters' eldest daughter but also the widow of the Thorne family's second son.

Security footage wasn't something meant to be shown casually, but since Sienna asked, she didn't dare refuse.

On the monitor, Hayden and Zoe were seen practically clearing out an entire rack of clothes. Both of their faces were captured perfectly clearly.

Mrs. Winters's expression turned icy cold.

"Zoe Lynd? Impossible."

A fleeting, nearly imperceptible trace of shock flashed through Sienna's beautiful eyes.

Seeing the exact outfit she had been hesitating over due to the price tag casually swept up by Hayden and gifted entirely to Zoe made her expression tighten.

But when she turned to Mrs. Winters, her gaze was clear and seemingly indifferent.

"Mom, my sister is Hayden's wife, after all. Taking her out for clothes once in five years is nothing. Don't be angry."

Five years? No, Hayden had never had eyes for any woman other than her, let alone a scheming, manipulative woman like Zoe.

She smiled and helped her mother pick out clothes, waiting until she went into the dressing room before making a phone call.

"Mrs. Thorne, I was fired by Mr. Thorne. I'm afraid I won't be able to help you anymore."

On the other end of the line, Valerie Yates's voice wavered with tears. Sienna paused in surprise.

Fired?

It seemed she hadn't visited Easton Group in a while. It was time she paid a visit.

When Zoe returned to the office from the mall, she found her phone blowing up with missed calls from Mr. White.

"Ms. Lyndβ€”"

Zoe braced herself for Mr. White's usual passive-aggressive remarks.
