After work, Zoe left Lily in Garrett's care.

Knowing she had something important to handle, Garrett didn't pry.

"I'll take her to my grandfather's place. You can come pick her up when you're done, or I can drive her back to you."

Zoe had no idea what kind of poison Sienna might be whispering in Hayden's ear. Right now, Easton and Sterling were still business partners. A messy falling-out would benefit no one.

She couldn't drag Garrett into her personal disaster.

The Kendall family was just like the Thornes—Garrett was their only viable heir. Arthur Kendall Sr. had already issued an ultimatum: if Garrett couldn't push Sterling Group into the city's top three, he had to obediently step in line and pursue a career in politics.

Zoe knew Garrett despised the idea.

"I'll pick her up at your grandfather's. It'll give me a chance to visit him anyway."

Garrett nodded, and Zoe left with peace of mind.

Even though she arrived at the Winters Estate a full hour before dinner, she still bumped into Sienna and Hayden right outside the front door.

She hadn't expected her mother to invite them too.

"Why are you here?"

Hayden and Sienna stood shoulder-to-shoulder, holding Holden's hands. They looked like a picture-perfect family of three.

With Sienna bringing Hayden over, it looked exactly like a beloved daughter and son-in-law coming home to visit her mother. Looking at them, Zoe felt like an intruder stumbling into someone else's happy portrait.

Without saying much, Zoe kept her emotions utterly flat.

This was how Hayden and Sienna were supposed to be five years ago. She was the one who had accidentally crashed into their lives. They had nothing to do with her anyway.

"Mrs. Winters asked me to come."

Zoe didn't call Clara "Mom."

Sienna noticed the deliberate distance but brushed it off. She absolutely refused to be compared to Zoe anyway.

The gap between the Lynd family and the Winters family was monumental. Having a sister like Zoe was nothing but an embarrassment.
