Thinking of this, Mrs. Winters couldn't help but feel a renewed surge of disgust toward Zoe.

"Sienna, why don't you and Hayden go upstairs and check on Holden? I'm worried he's so caught up in his games that he won't eat. He listens to Hayden the most..."

Seeing that the couple had eaten enough, Mrs. Winters decided to send them away. Zoe was still technically her daughter, and she didn't want to say certain things in front of Hayden, fearing it would leave him with the impression that she was heavily biased.

"Zoe and I haven't seen each other in a long time. We need a private moment to catch up."

Sienna instantly understood. Her mother was about to lecture Zoe.

Hayden stood up, not sparing Zoe a single glance the entire time.

Just as they reached the stairs, Hayden suddenly lowered his voice to a pitch only Zoe could hear. "You told me you didn't care about the Lynd shares, yet here you are, coming back for them. You're quite the hypocrite."

Sienna, who was walking slightly ahead, noticed Hayden hadn't followed. She turned back and saw the two of them seemingly whispering. A flicker of irritation crossed her face, and she immediately marched back, linking her arm tightly through Hayden's right in front of Zoe.

"Hayden, what were you guys talking about?"

Zoe took two steps back, putting deliberate distance between herself and Hayden.

Hayden's eyes darkened. What was she playing at?

A mocking smile played on Zoe's lips. "Relax. We weren't talking about anything. I have no interest in stealing someone else's man. I have standards."

It was a double entendre. Hayden was legally Zoe's husband; her words were a direct slap in Sienna's face.

Sienna wasn't stupid. She understood perfectly.

But she didn't lose her temper.

"You need actual skills to steal a man. Clearly, you don't make the cut."

She pulled Hayden upstairs.

Zoe scoffed. Even if Hayden were gift-wrapped and handed to her, she wouldn't want him.

Mrs. Winters waited until her daughter and Hayden completely disappeared at the top of the stairs before dropping the fake maternal act.
