I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 275

Hayden scooped Holden into his arms, with Sienna following closely by their side.

"Mom, Hayden and I are taking Holden out now."

Mrs. Winters stared at Terrence's jacket and briefcase on the sofa, her mind racing with the sickening sounds echoing from the storage room.

She was burning with panic.

"I know, sweetheart. Have a good time."

The smile she forced was uglier than a grimace. She just wanted them out the door as fast as possible.

Maybe there was still time to stop it.

Zoe, that absolute bitch.

Years ago, she had brought her teenage daughter back to the estate, wanting to show off her luxurious new life and demanding Zoe take the message back to the Lynd familyβ€”to spite that stubborn old woman.

She hadn't expected the sixteen-year-old Zoe to have blossomed into such a stunningly beautiful girl.

She had let Zoe stay the night, only for Zoe to try and seduce Terrence.

The mere memory made Mrs. Winters shake with rage.

If she hadn't discovered them in time that night, Zoe might have actually succeeded. Terrence hadn't been nearly as successful back then. He had dropped to his knees, crying and begging, claiming he had simply lost his mind for a second.

He insisted Zoe had seduced him.

Mrs. Winters had nearly spat blood in anger.

She believed Terrence was a loyal, simple man, not some degenerate. But Zoe was her own flesh and blood.

Mrs. Winters had started an affair with Terrence back when he was merely the Lynd family's driver. They had carried on in secret for years until Zoe's father finally died, clearing the path for them to marry.

Because of her own history, Mrs. Winters easily convinced herself that Zoe carried the same deceitful, man-stealing genetics.

Without a second thought, she had grabbed Zoe by the hair and beaten her mercilessly.

No matter how hard Zoe begged or tried to explain, Mrs. Winters refused to listen. Before the sun even came up, she had thrown the sixteen-year-old out onto the street and banished her forever.

She never imagined that today, Terrence would randomly come home early and cross paths with Zoe again.

This was an absolute disaster.

"Mom, I actually have something else to tell you."

Sienna noticed her mother's erratic behavior, grabbed her arm, and dragged out a ten-minute conversation before finally getting into Hayden's car.

The moment they pulled away, Mrs. Winters sprinted back into the house.

In the car, Sienna checked the rearview mirror as Hayden asked flatly, "Is something wrong?"

A satisfied smile played on Sienna's lips. "No, just thinking about which amusement park to take Holden to."

Hayden's car merged into the traffic and disappeared.
