I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 289

Zoe curled her lips into a smirk. "Your Hayden is already gone. But, Sienna, I'm curious. You're sitting in my husband's car, threatening me. Who exactly gave you the audacity?"

Sienna realized Hayden had indeed walked away. Her heart sank slightly, but she faced Zoe's provocation with fearless arrogance. "Love. A man's love. Hayden doesn't love you, and you know it. No matter what schemes you pull or tricks you play, you'll only end up humiliating yourself. It's useless. Just divorce him. He's never going to love you, so what's the point of all this? If I were you..."

Zoe mockingly waved her phone in Sienna's face. "If I were you, the smartest thing to do after stealing someone else's husband would be to shut your mouth. Otherwise, every single thing you've gotten from my husband over the years—whether it's millions of dollars or luxury gifts, down to the tampons he indirectly paid for—I can use the law to make you spit it all back out. Try me."

Sienna choked, so enraged she looked like she might have a heart attack.

A Maybach pulled up smoothly and parked right in front of Zoe. Garrett Kendall and Nadia Fox stepped out one after the other. Zoe blinked in surprise.

Nadia caught the tail end of the conversation and locked her sharp gaze onto Sienna. "Ms. Winters, I am Zoe's attorney. There's no time like the present—care to join us for a chat over coffee?"

Sienna recognized Nadia. In legal circles, she was the ruthless shark who could argue a dead man back to life. Sienna took a step back, only to spot Hayden returning. Thrilled, she knew it.

"Get in the car," Hayden said. That single command firmly secured Sienna's position.

Smug, Sienna shot Zoe a deeply contemptuous look and walked away without looking back.

Hayden always showed up with perfect timing to defend Sienna. In Zoe's memory, he had never missed a beat.

Garrett stood beside Zoe, his protective stance blatantly obvious. Hayden spotted it from the distance of his car, a knot of irritation tightening in his chest. Ultimately, he stepped back out and approached them.

But Zoe assumed he was just coming back to back up Sienna, thinking they were ganging up on his sweetheart.

"You get in the car first," Garrett told Zoe, echoing the exact tone Hayden had used to shield Sienna.

Hayden stared in disbelief.
