Zoe abandoned him and turned to walk away, but Hayden effortlessly grabbed her and shoved her into the car. Into the passenger seat—the spot she had never occupied, the seat exclusively reserved for Sienna. How ironic that after five years of memory loss, she was finally sitting beside Hayden.

Hayden ground his back teeth together, flashing a cold, hollow smile. "Trying to piss me off so your little boy toy can swoop back in to save you?"

After picking up Lily, Zoe moved to the backseat to sit with her daughter. The thought of sitting where Sienna had been made her skin crawl.

Lily hadn't expected her father to be the one picking her up. Seeing him, she offered a highly reluctant, "Daddy," before scurrying on her short legs to huddle next to Zoe.

Hayden frowned, his gaze sweeping over Lily. Even after all this time, she was still so timid. She acted nothing like a Thorne.

Hayden eventually took them to an upscale, quiet restaurant for dinner. He chose the best private suite, where floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view of a serene courtyard with a stone bridge and a koi pond. The dishes ordered were specifically tailored to Lily's tastes.

Hayden stared at Lily, a faint smile touching his lips that even he didn't realize was there. For the first time in five years, he was having dinner with his wife and daughter. His plate remained empty as he simply watched them eat. Yet, a strange sense of fulfillment bloomed in his chest.

Zoe didn't hold back at all. It was Hayden's dime, and technically, she still owned half his assets. She was essentially spending her own money.

"Is it good?" Hayden asked, taking a sip of water. He reached out to wipe a crumb from Lily's cheek.

Lily instinctively dodged his hand. Tapping away on her smartwatch, she sent Garrett a voice message. "Uncle Garrett! Mommy and I are eating at a really nice restaurant. The food is so yummy! We'll bring you next time. Kisses!"

Hayden was about to scold Lily for playing with her watch at the table, but his eyes accidentally caught the screen. The name "Uncle Garrett" made him instantly bristle. His dark, brooding gaze rapidly scanned the text on the display.
