Sylvia actually scoffed in pure disbelief.

"Why wouldn't he believe it? Let me ask you, do you really love him that much?"

If she did, Sylvia was incredibly thankful Zoe hadn't seen Hayden wrapping his jacket around Sienna just now. Otherwise, the poor girl would be heartbroken.

Zoe felt helpless. "I don't remember the five years since I married him, Mrs. Kendall. It's the truth."

Seeing her earnest expression, Sylvia couldn't bring herself to press the issue.

But Sylvia had seen those photos. She assumed Zoe was deeply in love with Hayden and was just looking for a graceful way to save face.

"Alright, let's not talk about that. Let me show you around."

After the banquet ended, they returned to the main Kendall residence. Sylvia brought a plate of fruit to Zoe's room, holding her hand and chatting warmly.

"Zoe, are you home right now? Are you okay? Listen to me, no matter what you saw or heard tonight, do not do anything stupid, okay?

Don't forget you have Lily and me. We're your family."

Zoe didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"I'm perfectly fine, and I'm not going to do anything extreme. What's going on?"
