Everyone heard his desperate pitch. Standing next to Sienna, Ethan stared at Zachary as if the man had lost his mind.

Hayden heard every word too, but he stood by like a detached observer. Even watching Zachary beg for a deal right in front of them didn't cause a single ripple of annoyance on his face.

It was as if Easton losing out on the partnership was nothing more than a passing cloud on a sunny day. It didn't affect his mood in the slightest.

"This guy is hilarious," Ethan scoffed. "He hits a brick wall with Easton and comes crying to you guys. If you ask me, the only reason you're turning him down is that you don't want to look like you're picking up Easton's table scraps."

Ethan had some history with Zachary. He had once pitched a deal that Zachary had flat-out rejected, leaving Ethan with a bruised ego. Now that he had the chance to kick the man while he was down, he wasn't going to hold back.

As Zachary kept practically begging Garrett and Zoe, Ethan strolled up with a smug sneer.

"Save your breath, Zachary. Easton already showed you the door. If they didn't want you, why would these guys? You're better off giving up."

Garrett and Zoe shot Ethan an icy glare. Where did he get off acting so arrogantly?

Zachary found Ethan's interruption incredibly irritating. He furrowed his brows.

"Who told you Easton rejected me?" Zachary demanded. "Are you delusional, Ethan? Easton's AI department is lightyears away from being internationally viable. The Domestic Care Bot project that Ms. Winters pitched is pure fantasy. It can't be mass-produced, the maintenance costs are astronomical, and it has absolutely zero commercial value. That is exactly why I killed the deal. What? Did she tell you Easton pulled the plug?"
