I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 41

Nadia Fox was absolutely terrified.

She had heard plenty of rumors about Hayden Thorne over the years.

Wasn't he always joined at the hip with Sienna Winters? Since when did he care about Zoe Lynd?

"I'm not exactly close with your wife."

"Not close?"

Hayden raised a dark brow, watching as Zoe slid off Nadia and nearly collapsed onto the floor.

With a deep frown, he scooped her directly into his arms, holding her tight.

Zoe was so drunk she was seeing double.

She couldn't even count her own fingers properly, yet she reached up to cup Hayden's face, pulling him in close.

"Nadia, did you hear me? I want to divorce Hayden. A divorce. You're a lawyer, I'm leaving it to you. Let's drink to that. We're not going home until we're wasted tonight—"

Nadia's face twitched violently. Her expression turned icy, and she wanted nothing more than to wring Zoe's neck right then and there.

Did Zoe have a death wish? Why was she dragging her down with her?

"Huh, Nadia, why is your face so prickly?"

Zoe reached out, her delicate hand rubbing against Hayden's fresh stubble. It scratched her soft skin.

Hayden forcefully tucked her head into his chest, his handsome face covered in a layer of absolute frost.

"Ms. Fox, as a lawyer, instigating someone to get a divorce and breaking up a family doesn't exactly align with professional ethics."

Nadia wanted to cry but had no tears. She scrambled to explain.

"Hayden—no, Mr. Thorne, Boss, it really has nothing to do with me. Your wife and I don't even know each other. I drank too much and stumbled to the wrong table. Oh look, it's late, I really should head back. I have work tomorrow. Haha—"

Nadia tried to slip away, but Hayden wasn't about to let her off the hook.

"Save it for the police station."

Nadia's face instantly fell. "Hey man, we're just out having a drink. It's not against the law. Calling the cops is crossing a line, don't you think?"

She seriously needed to check her horoscope next time she went out. Zoe was going to be the death of her.

God damn it, she hadn't even touched a single escort's hand!

Sure enough, right after Hayden left, a squad of police officers appeared at the door and hauled her away.

Nadia assumed Hayden would take Zoe home, but to her sheer disbelief, the man dragged Zoe right into the precinct with her.

"Drinking and soliciting male escorts. Captain Briggs, handle it as you see fit."

Nadia was mortified.

She was a lawyer; she dealt with the police all the time.

The captain looked at her in absolute shock.

Hayden stared at the woman passed out in the chair and spoke with chilling calm.

"Make the call. Tell her family to come pick her up."

"..."

Nadia realized that Hayden, this absolute bastard, was ready to play executioner and lock his own wife up.
