I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 411

"Absolutely not!"

Timothy and Garrett shouted in unison.

Zoe was equally shocked.

She had zero flight training. Hayden wanted to drag her into the sky?

Was he trying to murder her just because she and Nadia ruined his proposal to Sienna?

Hayden's sharp, piercing gaze cut straight to Timothy, carrying such a lethal weight that even Garrett felt a shiver of genuine dread when they made eye contact.

This man had been forged on the battlefield.

He had blood on his hands.

He wasn't the same kind of man as Garrett, or even Timothy.

"That wasn't a request," Hayden said coldly. "It was an order."

"..."

Zoe could have refused.

Even Timothy thought she could get out of it if she just said the word, or maybe softened her tone a bit.

Garrett wasn't having it. "Commander Thorne, this is incredibly reckless. Ms. Lynd has no flight training. You can't put her in a jet."

Hayden began prepping his gear, not even bothering to look at him.

"When a real threat arrives, no one gives you time to prepare. She's riding in the plane, not flying it."

He tossed Zoe a set of women's camo flight gear, complete with a helmet and boots.

Clearly, Timothy hadn't prepared these.

Hayden had brought them with him when he arrived at the base.

Zoe changed into the uniform. The fit was perfect.

Timothy's suspicions only deepened.

Garrett walked over to Zoe. "Be careful up there."

He reached out to hold her hand for comfort, but Hayden seamlessly wrapped his arm around Zoe's waist, pulling her smoothly to his left side.

Hayden moved so fast that Garrett's hand caught nothing but air. Timothy watched the whole exchange, feeling an indescribable knot in his chest.

No matter how you looked at it, Hayden and Garrett seemed like rivals.
