Garrett accompanied Zoe to the hospital for her check-up. The results came back perfectly normal, and Zoe finally let out a breath of relief.

Dr. Liao looked at Zoe affectionately. Her complexion was significantly better than in the past. Having been Zoe's primary doctor for five years, Dr. Liao couldn't help but feel a protective pity for her.

What kind of woman constantly put her body through this kind of abuse?

At least Zoe wasn't a naive teenager anymore; she was a smart, capable adult.

"Make sure you bring her in for regular check-ups. As long as she rests and takes care of herself during the pregnancy, the baby will be perfectly healthy."

Dr. Liao had a good impression of Garrett. He was exactly what a supportive brother should be.

"Is your husband still refusing to show up?"

If her husband could actually bother to attend, it would be ideal.

Zoe trusted Dr. Liao like an older sister and didn't hide the truth.

"He never will again. We've signed the divorce papers."

Dr. Liao nodded knowingly. "A man like that isn't worth keeping."

Zoe left Dr. Liao's department and bumped into Quentin Muir in the hallway.

Thankfully, Quentin only offered a polite greeting to her and Garrett without asking any probing questions.

Garrett, however, was irritated.

"Isn't he friends with Mr. Thorne? He saw you at a hospital and didn't even bother to ask why you were here?"

Zoe pressed her lips together. "Hayden probably told them we're getting divorced."

Garrett supposed that made sense.

While they were married, Hayden's friends had never exactly stood up for Zoe. He certainly couldn't expect them to play the hero now that the marriage was over.

Actually, Quentin not asking questions was probably a blessing in disguise.

Zoe took a few steps, then suddenly turned back and called out to him.

"Dr. Muir, can I ask you something?"

Quentin paused, looking a bit surprised.

He knew Zoe was here for a prenatal check-up. If she genuinely wanted nothing to do with Hayden anymore, he should be the absolute last person she'd want to talk to, right?
