It was a massive trial, yet Hayden was nowhere to be seen.

Seeing her mother's shocked expression, Sienna felt her entire world collapse.

Sensing the gravity of the situation, Mrs. Winters started cursing out loud.

“When you were on top of the world, he spoiled you rotten! He flew you all over the globe. When you were nominated for that international award, he followed you around like a puppy.

Now you're facing jail time, and he can't even show his face? After all these years together, is he just going to turn his back on you?”

Sienna had no idea. Her phone had been confiscated, and she couldn't contact anyone. Hayden hadn't visited her once, and she had no clue what was going through his mind.

She could only weep softly to her mother. “Mom, can you figure out where Zoe got this 'Military Spouse' title?

I still have her and Hayden's marriage certificate. There's no way they got divorced and she remarried.

She framed me for hitting her and used that title to get me sentenced. Please, look into it and find out what's really going on.”

Mrs. Winters was equally baffled.

“If you have their certificate, their marriage should still be valid.

She's still Mrs. Thorne. How could she possibly be a military spouse? The Kendalls must be pulling strings behind the scenes to mess with us.”

Mother and daughter clung to each other, crying bitterly, while Julian stood off to the side, utterly helpless.

“Mr. Thorne, bailing out or reducing the sentence for Ms. Winters falls entirely outside our jurisdiction.

She publicly insulted a Military Spouse, and we have the audio recording to prove it. Mrs. Thorne is under state protection. No one is allowed to show favoritism to anyone who insults a Military Spouse.”

Once the government stepped in, the situation was completely out of his control.

“Understood, I will comply with all orders from Command HQ.”

Another stark warning followed.
