I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 441

Terrence was still locked up. Julian had barely dodged a prison sentence. Sienna had actually done a three-month stint. Mrs. Winters' resentment could have blown the roof off the estate.

Seeing Sienna return safely with Hayden made her ecstatic.

“Mom, I still have some business to handle at the office, I'll leave Sienna with you and come check on her later.”

Julian hadn't gone to work today just so he could see if Hayden would actually show up and if Sienna was still the apple of his eye.

He wasn't disappointed. Hayden’s tender gaze looked exactly like that of a deeply devoted husband.

Julian and Megan had set up a small fire pit in the middle of the driveway.

“Step over the flames,” Megan urged eagerly. “It's a tradition to burn away the prison bad luck. You'll only have good fortune from now on. Go on, jump over it...”

Mrs. Winters egged her on from the sidelines.

Thinking of Hayden's unwavering support in the car, Sienna felt her confidence completely restored. She didn't want to ruin the mood.

“Right... My luck is bound to turn around now.”

She lifted her leg and stepped over the small blaze, completely forgetting how long her skirt was.

The thin synthetic fabric caught the searing heat and blue flames, instantly igniting.

The smell of burning clothes filled the air. Seeing Sienna's dress engulfed in fire, Mrs. Winters shrieked in absolute horror. Megan realized she had just caused a massive disaster.

Panicking, Sienna screamed and ran wildly.

But the flames clung to her.

Julian scrambled around frantically until he found a watering can.

Freezing water splashed all over her. Then he grabbed the garden hose and blasted her, soaking her to the bone.

Prison! Fire! Drowning in cold water!

Trembling from the sheer terror of it all, Sienna’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed in a dead faint.
