Garrett met his furious glare without backing down an inch.

After a tense silence, Hayden spoke slowly.

“My marriage to Zoe is a military union. Under my protection, no one would dare touch her.”

“Oh?”

Garrett dragged out the syllable, dripping with sarcasm.

“Has it ever occurred to you that without this marriage, no one in the world would have dared to bully her in the first place? You know better than anyone who has truly been hurting her this whole time.

With Zoe’s current abilities and status, no one can shake her position.”

Garrett enunciated every word.

“Let her go, Mr. Thorne. You have the woman you want. There's no need to keep Zoe locked down. She is never coming back to you.”

The light in Hayden’s eyes slowly died out. In the face of Garrett’s relentless standoff, he finally surrendered.

“Fine. Let's hope this is what she truly wants. Tell her not to regret it.”

Hayden walked up to the counter, handed over the receipt Garrett had brought, and exchanged a few words with the clerk.
