"Hayden, where are you?"

Hayden held the steering wheel steady, Sienna's voice playing through his Bluetooth earpiece.

"Driving back to the office. What's up?"

Sienna froze slightly. He really wasn't at the office.

She bit her lower lip softly. "Did you go to the jeweler?"

Disliking beating around the bush, Sienna asked him directly. She felt that Hayden had changed recently, that he was hiding things from her.

Going to a jewelry store without telling her was out of character.

"Yeah."

A single word. Simple and clear, with absolutely zero intention of offering her an explanation.

Sienna felt too awkward to press the issue any further.

They exchanged a few more casual words before she hung up.

Noticing the shift in Sienna's expression, Megan and Mrs. Winters couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Sienna walked up to the counter. The saleswoman recognized her immediately; she was a regular.

"Mrs. Thorne."

The saleswoman beamed a bright, customer-service smile. Sienna cut straight to the chase.

"What did Mr. Thorne buy?"

Knowing Sienna was a familiar face, the saleswoman spilled the details without hesitation.

"I suppose congratulations are in order for you and Mr. Thorne! He just purchased a twenty-carat diamond ring, along with a matching necklace and earring set."

The saleswoman's smile grew even wider. "It's obvious that Mr. Thorne put a lot of thought into this for you..."

Sienna's heart hammered wildly against her ribs.

Hayden had actually bought that much.

"Hayden has his own sense of timing for these things. I honestly never pushed for marriage. It was him who always wanted us to have our happy ending.

I had given up on romance a long time ago. All I wanted was to protect Charles's memory and raise his son. I really didn't have any other desires."

Mrs. Winters wasn't having any of that.

"What kind of nonsense is that? A woman needs a man by her side. Hayden loves you so much, and he's held back and endured for years.

Now that he's finally divorced Zoe, you two can be together. You were always the golden couple; getting back together now is simply destiny.

Don't let a single ounce of guilt toward Zoe weigh on you. A woman who steals her sister's fiancé doesn't even deserve to be called family."

Sienna pressed her lips together into a small smile, thoroughly enjoying the validation.

Aside from the old lady, absolutely no one supported Zoe and Hayden's marriage.
