I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 506

Zoe's unyielding stance finally made Hayden dial back his intensity.

Seeing that Hayden was merely arguing with Zoe and showed no signs of physical aggression, Mr. Kendall Sr. and Sylvia relaxed slightly.

They quickly scooped up Lily and carried little Ian out of the room, giving the couple some space to talk.

Hayden didn't stop them. Only Lily seemed worried.

Lily looked up at them nervously. "Will Daddy hit Mom?"

Mr. Kendall Sr. and Sylvia frowned in unison. Did Hayden have a history of domestic violence?

But this was the Kendall estate. No matter how ruthless Hayden was, he wouldn't dare try anything crazy with security cameras everywhere.

Besides, his rank and status simply wouldn't allow him to stoop to that level.

Mr. Kendall Sr. and Sylvia didn't want the little girl to carry the trauma of thinking her father was a monster.

"Of course not, sweetie. Your dad is a man, and a real man never hurts a woman."

Reassured by their words, Lily finally relaxed.

Back in the bedroom, only Hayden and Zoe remained.

Shedding his usual intimidating aura, he walked slowly toward her.

He poured a glass of warm water and offered it to her.

His voice was impossibly soft, carrying a gentle tone Zoe had never heard from him before.

"You're still recovering from childbirth, don't get worked up. There's been a misunderstanding between us. I just want a chance to take care of you, Lily, and..."

He paused, realizing he didn't even know what she had named their son.

Zoe let out a cold laugh. "A chance? Take care of who? Lily? Me? You're out of your mind, Hayden. Go see a doctor."

She ignored the glass of water. Hayden didn't push it, nor did he lose his temper.

He stayed silent for a few seconds before changing the subject.

"What's his name?"

Zoe saw no reason to hide it.

"Ian Kendall. The Kendall family named him. I think it has a nice ring to it."

Hayden furrowed his brow, forcefully suppressing his rising anger.
