I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 509

Hayden shattered his wine glass with his bare hand. Colin heard the sharp crack over the line, but he was used to it by now.

It was the umpteenth time this month.

He barely even registered it anymore.

He only felt a twinge of pity for the expensive crystal glasses that cost thousands of dollars a pop.

Tsk, tsk.

Beep—

The line went dead.

Hayden had hung up.

Colin pursed his lips, debating whether he should relay this disaster to Grandmother Beatrice.

His wife had a son, and it looks like it isn't the boss's...

Yikes.

He ultimately decided to take the secret to his grave to keep the old lady from having a stroke.

Hayden downed two and a half bottles of wine. His vision was blurring, but his mind remained agonizingly sharp.

A familiar ringtone suddenly cut through the haze, bringing a flicker of clarity to his bloodshot eyes.

He reached out and answered the call.

A woman's voice came through the speaker.

"Hayden, where are you? Aren't you coming back to Blackwood Manor?"

Sienna Winters' voice was sickeningly sweet. In the dead of night, that delicate, sultry tone was incredibly seductive.

Any man would find that blatant invitation impossible to resist.

Hayden paused, his grip on the phone loosening slightly.

"What is it?"

Thanks to the alcohol, his voice was thick and husky.

To Sienna, it sounded like he had just woken up.

She blinked. It was the middle of the night; Hayden definitely wasn't with Zoe.

He was all alone. Wasn't he craving a woman's touch?

Sienna had been trying to track him down for days but couldn't get a hold of him.

Even when she managed to get him on the phone, he would hang up after barely a couple of sentences.
