Ethan looked at Sienna as if she were a guardian angel swooping in to save the day.

"Sienna, what took you so long? Hayden's had too much to drink. He's talking complete nonsense, but thank god you're here."

Zoe pulled back her icy glare, her entire demeanor practically radiating mockery toward Hayden.

"Mr. Thorne, the real Mrs. Thorne is right here. If you've had too much to drink, you should probably head home and rest. Excuse us, everyone, we have other guests to attend to."

Zoe boldly looped her arm through Garrett's. Hayden's fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white, the veins pulsing at his temples. Ethan immediately stepped in, grabbing Hayden by the shoulders to hold him in place.

"Hayden, Sienna and Holden are watching. You can't traumatize the kid."

Quentin and Ian Varley exchanged a look, both silently wishing they could slip some poison into Ethan's drink to shut him up.

Hayden's path was blocked by Holden, who was glaring at Zoe with undisguised hostility.

"Dad—"

Sienna had instructed him to call him that.

It felt a little strange to the boy, but he hadn't thought much of it.

Dropping the 'Uncle' from 'Uncle Hayden' didn't seem like a big deal.

A faint, terrifying darkness settled over Hayden's features. He looked dangerously unapproachable.

For the first time in his life, Holden felt a spike of genuine fear. He immediately changed his address back to 'Uncle Hayden.'

Sienna didn't seem to notice the lethal shift in Hayden's mood. She even pushed Holden a step forward, forcing him closer to the man.

"Holden woke up late, which made me late too. Thank goodness we made it in time for your toast, Mr. Kendall and Zoe. I see the baby—does he look more like Mr. Kendall or Zoe? My mother doesn't even know Zoe had a second child yet. If she knew she was a grandmother again, she'd be absolutely thrilled."

Sienna's words were so dripping with fake sweetness that Quentin and Ian Varley practically cringed out of their skin.

Ethan dismissed the sentiment entirely. "What's there to congratulate? On the surface, they look like a perfect match, but underneath, it's nothing but a dirty affair."

Sienna wanted to smile, but knowing it would look inappropriate, she settled for stealing a secretive glance at Hayden, desperate to gauge his reaction.

Hayden gently but firmly pushed Holden away, guiding him back to Sienna. His voice was freezing cold.

"Call me Uncle Hayden. You will never call me Dad again."

Sienna froze. The rest of the table looked on in utter shock.

Everyone knew how deeply Hayden cared for Holden. Their bond had always transcended a typical father-son relationship.
