"Where did you learn that?"

Hayden remained completely unfazed.

"A woman is a natural weapon. Commander Thorne, I think you're underestimating my skillset."

Hayden tugged his tie free. Yara had already hoisted herself onto the edge of his desk, settling into a highly suggestive pose.

This was exactly the scene Sienna walked into as she pushed open the office door.

She had never imagined finding another woman in Hayden's office, and a wave of burning jealousy instantly consumed her.

"Who are you? What is going on here?"

Sienna had never expected to find anyone other than herself in Hayden's private sanctuary at Thorne Enterprises.

Yara hopped off the desk with predatory grace. Right in front of Sienna, she coolly fastened the buttons of her shirt, realigning her collar.

After Yara walked out, Sienna stood frozen in the center of the room, waiting for an explanation.

"Why are you here?"

But Hayden didn't look the least bit guilty for being caught, nor did he seem to care about justifying the situation.

Sienna forced the sharp words back down her throat.

She couldn't afford to let him view her as a hysterical, jealous shrew—exactly what Zoe used to be.

"We haven't seen much of each other lately. I just wanted to make sure you were taking care of yourself."

She set down the thermos of homemade soup she had brought, using it as an excuse to figure out exactly what he had been up to.

"Holden was devastated today. He's called you Dad since the day he was born, and then you suddenly forced him to call you Uncle Hayden. He thinks you don't want him anymore."

Sienna softly relayed Holden's heartbreak, carefully omitting her own profound sense of insecurity.

Seeing that woman had set off massive alarm bells in her head. Hayden's recent distance made perfect sense now—he had found someone new.
