I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 558

Zoe hung up the phone. Nita was absolutely furious, her face twisting in sheer outrage. When she tried to call back, she realized Zoe had blocked her number.

"Daniel, take us to the Kendall estate right now."

Seething with rage, Nita barked at her driver to turn the car around immediately.

Meanwhile, Zoe and Garrett were having the time of their lives taking Lily out to play. When Nita stormed into the Kendall estate, she didn't find them at all. Instead, Sylvia was home, happily playing with little Ian.

"Sylvia, I'm here for Zoe."

Nita was clearly looking for a fight, but Sylvia maintained her impeccable manners. She invited the woman inside, offered her a seat, and had the staff serve tea and pastries.

"My goddaughter and my son took my little granddaughter out for the day," Sylvia said calmly. "Can I help you with something, Nita?"

Sylvia had already heard about Lily beating someone up. She had specifically told Garrett and Zoe to spend quality time with the girl so the incident wouldn't leave any lasting psychological scars.

"Did they really go out, or are they hiding to dodge responsibility?" Nita snapped. "Don't you owe me an explanation, Sylvia?"

She had come looking for blood. Nita had made up her mind; she wasn't leaving today without dragging Zoe and Lily away with her.

Sylvia found the entire display laughable. She gently patted little Ian, continuing to play with the baby while casting a nonchalant glance at Nita.

"Hiding from what? You rushed all the way over here, so I assume you're here to comfort Lily, right?" Sylvia countered. "Speaking of which, Charles's son really lacks basic manners.

"He's a five-year-old boy. There is absolutely no excuse for him to bully a little girl, especially one he is supposed to treat like family. If word got out, people would hardly believe it.

"Actually, Nita, I heard Holden went out of his way to pick on Lily today, and she ended up beating him to a pulp. Is that true?

"Do you really think it's possible for a big boy like him to get beaten up by a little girl? You don't think he was faking it, do you?

"As his grandmother, you really need to go back and teach that child a proper lesson."

Having made her point, Sylvia turned her attention back to little Ian. "Ian, when you grow up, you can't be like that little brat.
