I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 568

Hayden kept his eyes fixed on the road. "I don't have time."

"Everyone who's anyone in the industry is attending. Commissioner Sterling even invited Garrett and Zoe. Word is, Zoe is presenting a major report today." Hayden let out a cold scoff. "Zoe? Are you sure you haven't made a mistake?"

The voice on the line was resolute.

"Yes, sir. It's absolutely confirmed." Hayden's brows drew into a tight knot.

She had barely finished her first month postpartum and was already out networking? She couldn't wait to show off.

Was showing off really more important to her than taking care of her child?

Did Garrett actually care about her?

If he did, he would have insisted she stay home and recover.

"Got it. Send me the address. I'm heading there now."

Hayden completely altered his route, abandoning his trip to Easton and speeding toward the symposium location sent to his phone.

Zoe and Garrett arrived at the venue early. Commissioner Sterling and Marcus Sommer hadn't shown up yet.

However, they did run into Timothy Yates and his constant shadow, Sebastian Shaw.

Sebastian was his usual enthusiastic self, but Timothy practically made a beeline for Zoe.

Well-rested and pampered by the Kendall family after childbirth, Zoe looked more radiant and stunning than ever, her aura utterly captivating.

"Our Ms. Lynd looks more stunning every day. You're really embracing the elegance of a top-tier researcher," Sebastian marveled.

In truth, high-society families had a much higher tolerance for unconventional backgrounds than average ones.

For a brilliant, capable woman of equal standing, her having been married or having a child wasn't a dealbreaker.
