I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 567

"You really should discipline him. After all, he's your son, and he'll be living with you from now on."

Sienna's sobbing hitched in her throat. She looked at Hayden in a panic.

What did he mean?

What did he mean Holden would be living with her?

Was he abandoning Holden?

That was impossible. Holden was his brother's son. Was he washing his hands of him completely?

Before Sienna could process her shock, Hayden was already on his feet.

The usual affection he held for Holden was gone, replaced by a stern coolness.

Under Sienna's warning glare, Holden wisely kept his mouth shut.

Just then, Hayden's phone rang. Watching him step away to take the call, Sienna's taut nerves finally eased.

Holden looked miserable, but Sienna's eyes held a vicious glint.

"Don't you dare speak out of turn in front of him, understand?"

Holden jolted and nodded, keeping his head down, too afraid to move or speak.

When Hayden returned, Sienna was still wiping her tears.

"Has something major happened at Easton recently?"

His question caught her off guard.

She paused, dabbing at her fresh tears.

The only major issue she could think of was the faulty mainframes in a few of the AI robots they had sold.

Had Zoe really not dealt with it yet?

Lately, she hadn't bothered managing those problems, dumping everything on the legal department. If anyone complained, they could take it to court.

At worst, she'd pay a settlement. The company had plenty of advance funds; they could afford any payout.

She couldn't be bothered. All she knew was that she couldn't touch Easton's money, and now things were falling apart with Hayden. His attention had been stolen by Zoe, so she had to secure her position here.

"I-I don't know."

She stammered, playing the victim.
