I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 583

Ever since the attack on Zoe, her name had blown up in political and business circles.

If her research hadn't threatened international syndicates, why would anyone risk their lives to assassinate a scientist?

Thankfully, Commissioner Jasper Sterling had stepped up, and Timothy Yates's security detail was air-tight.

Zoe was escorted by military vehicles from the Kendall Estate to the base. She rode in one of them, but no one knew which one.

The daily route passed by the Winters Estate, making it unavoidable.

Mrs. Winters stepped out early one morning and couldn't help but gasp in shock at the dozens of vehicles roaring past.

"What kind of VIP needs such a massive entourage? And they go back and forth every day, forcing us to dodge them. It's ridiculous," Mrs. Winters complained as she spoke.

Sienna happened to be home that day. She hadn't been to Easton Group for days.

It was a complete mess. Thankfully, Mrs. Winters rarely watched the news. She had planned to go out and play poker with the other wealthy ladies but changed her plans after running into Zoe's convoy.

"How is Holden doing?"

Holden was still in the hospital, looked after by Nita Thorne. Mrs. Winters couldn't be bothered to run into her.

Big deal, so what if they were the Thornes? They were in-laws, yet Nita never seemed to give her the time of day. Relieved from caregiving duties, Mrs. Winters was happy to relax. She didn't dare gossip too much about the Thorne family anyway.

"He's fine. Nothing serious."

Sienna's mind was in turmoil. This was just the calm before the storm. She couldn't find Hayden anywhere, though Holden's condition was stable thanks to the doctors.

Nita worried about her only grandson and refused to trust anyone else, taking shifts herself alongside two Thorne family maids.

Sienna knew she couldn't use Holden as leverage anymore, so she dropped the idea.

"That's good."
