I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 584

"Mom, I needed to talk to her anyway. Her showing up saves me the trouble." Sienna was still speaking to Mrs. Winters when Zoe arrived.

Beside her stood Cherry and a lawyer from a top-tier firm.

Both Sienna and Mrs. Winters froze.

Mrs. Winters, in particular.

She had no idea why Zoe was there.

Sienna, however, maintained her composure.

"Zoe, are you here to tell me about the robot programming? You didn't need to come personally; telling my secretary would have been enough."

Hearing this, Mrs. Winters shot Zoe a contemptuous look.

So Zoe was working for Sienna and came all this way just to report in.

She knew raising a daughter like Sienna was worth it. Zoe couldn't possibly compare to her.

Zoe didn't answer. Cherry spoke on her behalf.

"Ms. Winters, today is the final deadline for repayment. We haven't received any transfers from you, so we're here to check on the situation. We're reasonable people. If you can't return the thirteen billion dollars within the stipulated timeframe, we'll have to take the Winters Group's assets as collateral."

Sienna's high-and-mighty facade instantly shattered.

Zoe wasn't here to discuss the robot code. She actually dared to collect the debt and brought people right to her door.

Mrs. Winters was even more confused.

"What thirteen-billion-dollar debt? Zoe, what kind of crazy talk is this? Have you lost your mind since your father died? You have absolutely no manners. Is this how you speak to your own family?"

Zoe looked at Mrs. Winters mockingly and finally spoke up herself.

No one knew the financial history between Zoe and Sienna better than Cherry.

The evidence she had was ironclad. In other words, if Zoe wanted to sue Sienna, she could produce a stack of evidence as thick as an encyclopedia to lock her away for life.

Mrs. Winters was completely lost and furious.

"It's bad enough you stole Sienna's husband, but now you're spreading rumors about a four-billion-dollar extortion? Show us the evidence! Where did you even get four billion? What kind of skills do you have to earn that kind of money?"

While Mrs. Winters was throwing a tantrum, Director Yates's security guard walked in from outside and headed straight for Zoe, offering a crisp military salute.

"Ms. Lynd, Director Yates asked if you've run into any trouble and if you need him to handle it. Our vehicles are already waiting by the curb with the engines off."

Mrs. Winters was thoroughly disgusted by Zoe at this point.

"What Ms. Lynd? There is no Ms. Lynd here, only Chairwoman Winters. And who the hell are you? This is a private residence. Trespassing comes with legal consequences.
