I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 592

Shaking his head, Justice pulled up Sienna's contact info and permanently blocked her number.

Looks like he wouldn't be dealing with her ever again. To avoid any collateral damage, Justice decided a strict physical quarantine from her drama was his best bet.

Inside the Fort Hamilton Command Center's control room, Timothy, Harvey, Zoe, and Hayden gathered around the main console.

Zoe had brought in a specialized team from her company, successfully delivering the newly developed Sentinel AI Units.

The microchips were entirely proprietary, breaking all reliance on overseas tech conglomerates—a crucial mandate born out of absolute national security protocols.

While civilian microchips often required years of R&D, military drones operated on highly streamlined parameters. They didn't need the flashy aesthetics or convoluted commercial directives of standard AI; their sole purpose was flawlessly executing tactical combat protocols.

Zoe maneuvered through the system architecture with effortless grace, leaving Timothy and the others thoroughly impressed.

After all, none of her true technological breakthroughs had ever been released to the public market.

Having witnessed the Sentinel AI Units' flawless diagnostic run firsthand, Hayden leaned back and murmured smoothly.

"The buggy units that crippled Easton... that was your masterpiece, wasn't it?"

Zoe shot him a look of utter apathy, sealing her lips without a word of confirmation.

There was no need.

Admitting she sabotaged Easton’s robots meant admitting she had access to their proprietary tech. She wasn't about to walk into that trap.

"I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, Commander Thorne."

Zoe knew Hayden treated Sienna like his most precious treasure. If he found out she had single-handedly destroyed Easton—the company that meant the world to Charles—he would surely seek vicious revenge.

Hayden’s gaze drifted over her. "You play the innocent card brilliantly."

Timothy couldn't take his eyes off her. Occasionally, he’d stare so intensely she’d catch him, assuming he was signaling a task completion and offering a polite nod. Meanwhile, Hayden kept glaring at her, but Zoe refused to give him so much as a passing glance.

The sickening crack of Hayden's knuckles echoed as he clenched his fists in mounting rage. After a grueling afternoon of testing, dinnertime rolled around, and Hayden was the first to speak up.

"Since this is my first time working with the Commissioner's son, dinner is on me tonight."

Zoe despised spending prolonged periods with Hayden, let alone sitting at the same dining table.

"I'll pass. My kids just turned a month old. It’s not convenient."

Hayden smiled smoothly. "Don't worry about that, Ms. Lynd. I've already had my people pick up your son and daughter. You have your husband's number, right? Give him a call and tell him to join us. If it's too much trouble, I can dial it for you."

Zoe's smile was dripping with absolute confidence. "I appreciate the thought, Commander Thorne, but you won't be picking up my children. My godmother is already flying them down to Miami for a vacation as we speak. Save your energy. And for the record, I'm divorced. I don't have a husband. Enjoy your dinner alone."
