He yanked her flush against his chest, his body bearing down on hers as he effortlessly ripped off her blouse.
Zoe scrambled to cover her lower half, leaving her top completely exposed.
Her entire face burned red as she desperately tried to guard her last line of defense.
"Hayden, what do you want from me?"
There she went again, treating him like some kind of monster trying to force himself on an innocent victim.
For the last five years, she was always the one initiating.
And now she wanted to play the untouchable virgin?
"I'm putting ointment on you. Andโ"
Hayden locked eyes with her, his hands continuing their maddening assault on her body, dragging out breathless gasps from her throat.
"You've been pulling all these little stunts lately. Is it because you still have feelings for Hunter?"
The mention of Hunter sent an unexpected pang through Zoe's chest.
But Hunter already had a fiancรฉe. Hayden was being utterly ridiculous.
Wait, he couldn't possiblyโ
An absolutely hilarious thought popped into her head.
Was he jealous?
Impossible. The only woman Hayden cared about was Sienna.
Sienna's son practically called him "Dad" in front of everyone.
Why would he ever be jealous over his own wife?
Hayden waited expectantly for her answer, but a soft knock interrupted them.
"Sir, Dr. Muir is here. He's waiting downstairs."
Hayden stared deeply into her eyes for a few seconds. Zoe couldn't deny that the man was devastatingly handsome.
His sharp nose, smoldering dark eyes, and chiseled jawline looked like a masterpiece sculpted by the gods. He was impossibly perfect from every angle, and every time she looked at him, he stole her breath away.
Even though she found their marriage ridiculous, whenever his gaze landed on her, her heart still hammered frantically against her ribs.
She hadn't felt this way in her three-year relationship with Hunter.
A man like Hayden was born to drive women absolutely insane.
"Got it."
"It's just a scratch. Don't worry about it."
Frowning, Quentin grabbed his elbow and cupped the damaged wrist.
After a long pause, Hayden shot him a lethal glare.
"I don't feel pain. Just do it."
Quentin pressed his lips tight and paused.
"Seriously, who did this? Have you tracked them down?"
Hayden's patience snapped. "I called you here to fix it, not to interrogate me."
Seizing the perfect moment, Quentin thrust the joint back into place with a sickening pop that echoed through the hall.
Agony ripped through Hayden's arm, but he didn't even flinch.
Releasing his grip, Quentin ordered, "Move it around. Next time something like this happens, just go straight to the ER."
The man had an ungodly pain tolerance, waiting this long for him to arrive.
Hayden rotated the joint. Aside from a slight stiffness, everything felt fine.
