I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 78

Hayden tightened his grip, his voice dropping into a dangerous purr.

"Say it, or I swear to God I'll take you right here on the table."

Zoe actually feared he would do it. This man had absolutely zero boundaries or shame.

Decency simply wasn't in his vocabulary.

Through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows of the dining room, she could see the backyard.

The bushes and freshly trimmed branches rustled with abnormal movement.

Hayden sharply noted that someone had snuck onto the property.

He curled his lip, his expression turning even more sadistic.

Zoe watched in horror as he casually shrugged off the bandage on his wrist and locked her in place with a single arm.

That bastard...

Nadia's favorite insult for Hayden aggressively popped into Zoe's head.

He really was an absolute animal.

A predatory one at that.

Zoe readily admitted that when it came to sheer audacity, she was no match for him.

Five years ago, Sienna had never once mentioned Hayden being this much of a sexual deviant.

She thought she was going to die on the spot.

"Well?"

The staff, hearing the compromising noise coming from the dining room, wisely took a massive detour.

Zoe knew that if she kept pushing her luck, Hayden would definitely do something much, much worse.

"Husband."

She finally forced the word out, burning with total humiliation.

He was the one who had insisted she wasn't truly Mrs. Thorne.

So what the hell was the point of forcing her to call him that now?

Hayden nodded in satisfaction.

He pulled a tube of ointment from his pocket.

His warm breath teased her skin.

"Let's go upstairs. I'll help you put this on."

Like a startled rabbit, Zoe instantly shoved herself out of his arms.

She snatched the ointment from him on her way out.

"No need. I'll do it myself."

Was she really that desperate to get rid of him?

Back in the day, she used to stick to him like glue.

She practically wanted to live in his pocket.

Hayden gave a cold scoff while Zoe just waited.

Mrs. Gable brought over Hayden's coat.

He grabbed it, slung it over his arm, and strode straight out the door without looking back.

Zoe let out a long breath, glanced at the stairs, and sprinted back up to her room.

Instead of heading to the garage for his car, Hayden detoured to the backyard.

His imposing silhouette cast a long shadow over the person crouching on the ground.

Seeing the black tailored trousers invade her space, the muddy woman slowly tilted her head up.

Hayden's sharp face was impassive. He stared down at Nadia, who had already flattened a good chunk of his tulips, his eyes swirling with dark irritation.

Nadia's delicate face instantly dropped in horror.

Was the man a ghost?

She was completely screwed. She had just seen him having breakfast with Zoe inside!

"You have a very unique hobby, Ms. Fox. Enjoying some light trespassing?"
