I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 84

But no one ever expected Hayden to be secretly married.

Sienna was the first to lose her composure.

Who did that maid think she was, calling Zoe 'the missus' right in front of Hayden?

No one in the conference room dared to breathe.

Had they just heard something they definitely shouldn't have?

So their boss actually had a wife, and she was cheating on him?

"Got it..."

Hayden ended the call, his face unreadable.

Everyone assumed that given Mr. Thorne's temper, the meeting would definitely proceed.

He and Sienna were the perfect match.

This so-called wife of his must just be a marriage of convenience, right? Otherwise, how could her existence have been kept a secret for so many years?

Sienna, dressed in a haute couture suit and sitting in the vice-chairman's seat, exuded capable, aristocratic elegance.

"Alright, let's continue."

She had noticed Zoe's absence, but hadn't given it much thought.

Hayden had never cared about Zoe, either.

That phone call was just a minor hiccup. Sienna didn't believe it would affect Hayden or the rest of the meeting.

All the executives and shareholders lowered their heads, fixing their eyes on the documents in front of them, ready to listen attentively to Hayden's next words.

"Colin..."

Hayden snapped his laptop shut.

Colin understood immediately, grabbing the car keys and heading straight to the garage.

Hayden stood up and announced the termination of the meeting two and a half hours early.

His steps were slightly rushed.

She didn't know what had gone wrong recently, but Hayden had suddenly started paying attention to that useless Zoe.

Sienna felt a profound sense of crisis.

Even though she had just received thirty million dollars transferred from Zoe, she had never actually seen her as a threat.

Over the years, aside from flaunting the Thorne family title and receiving a massive monthly allowance, she had squeezed millions upon millions of dollars out of Zoe.

Of course, she had squandered most of it.

The moment Sienna finished speaking, thunderous applause erupted from the company executives.

Everyone clamored to flatter her.

"The market winds have changed. The era of traditional design departments relying on manual drafting is long gone.

AI has taken over most of the market. Now that I'm back, I plan to initiate sweeping reforms.

Anyone coasting through their jobs, or those relying on outdated skills without keeping up with the times, will be let go."
