I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 94

Was he out of his mind? Wasn't he afraid Sienna would hear?

Hayden completely ignored her.

Zoe took a sharp breath, only one thought crossing her mind.

Hayden was a complete psycho.

Sienna hesitated for a few seconds before pressing the phone back to her ear.

Listening closely, it seemed like nothing was there.

"You've been gone for a while. Where did you go?"

Sienna's tone was rigid, sounding exactly like a wife demanding to know her husband's whereabouts.

Hayden had never cared about Zoe.

Sienna assumed he must be out handling important business and used Zoe as an excuse to keep the rest of the company in the dark.

However, using Zoe as a shield was a terribly sloppy move.

If he truly had important matters to attend to, why not use her as his cover?

She could have gone with him. Even if people saw them together, what did it matter?

At this point, the only thing missing between her and Hayden was a marriage certificate.

Charles had been dead for four years. As a widow, her mourning period was long over.

She felt there was no need to care about public opinion anymore.

Hayden stared at Zoe. She was angrily trying to push him away, yet her body was betraying her, melting against him.

That contradiction made her look incredibly beautiful and endearing.

Hayden let out a low sigh. He wondered if she had been like this with Hunter, too...

His thoughts drifted, and without realizing it, his grip tightened.

"Haydenβ€”"

Zoe glared at him furiously.

This time, Sienna heard it loud and clear. It was a woman's voice.

She just couldn't tell who it was.

When Hayden finally replied to Sienna, his voice was noticeably hoarse.

Zoe felt incredibly awkward.

To make matters worse, Hayden called out to her, holding up her completely destroyed bra. She wanted the ground to swallow her whole.

"Are you planning to walk into the office like that?"

Zoe felt helpless. She lifted one leg slightly. "I'm wearing pants today."

It was the only pair of pants she had managed to find at the boutique last time. Not a skirt, and definitely not sexy office wear.

Hayden's eyes darkened, and Zoe shivered.

It was definitely uncomfortable, but her sweater reached her mid-thigh.

Besides, who was going to be staring at her chest?

Hayden didn't say a word and walked into Easton's headquarters with her.

Colin was already standing by the elevator, waiting.

Seeing the couple walk in together, he sneakily snapped a photo and sent it straight to Grandmother Thorne.

"Mr. Thorne, Ms... Lynd."
