I Loved You in the Dark Until Someone Loved Me in the Light novel Chapter 107

Seeing her grim expression, Hailey bit her lip and cautiously reached out to grab Gillian's hand. "Gillian, I just figured you just got back, so I'm giving you a few patients to help you make some money this month. I'm trying to help you. Please don't view it as charity..."

"I know your mother is seriously ill and you need a lot of money. I really just want to help."

"I don't need your help." Being held by Hailey made Gillian feel physically nauseous.

She tried to forcefully pull her hand back, but Hailey wouldn't let go. Gillian yanked her arm away again with a decent amount of force, though not overly aggressive.

To her surprise, Hailey let out a sharp gasp and fell heavily to the floor.

Hailey looked up at Gillian in sheer disbelief, her eyes swimming with tears. "Gillian, are you just jealous that my promotion was faster than yours? Even if you don't want my help, you didn't have to push me!"

"Hailey!" York appeared out of nowhere. Seeing Hailey collapsed on the floor, he rushed over with a frantic expression and scooped her into his arms. "Are you okay? I'm taking you to get checked out by another doctor."

The moment he picked Hailey up, his gaze locked onto Gillian. She had been well-fed recently, and her complexion was noticeably more radiant than before.

York's voice was frigid. "Gillian, why are you always making things difficult for Hailey? If anything happens to her this time, forget about being an attending physician. Not a single hospital in all of this city will hire you."

He carried Hailey past Gillian. "Dr. Jordan, watch your step."

The man's icy threat was a clear warning not to cross Hailey.

When Hailey wasn't around, he would put on a hypocritical act, trying to woo her into playing the role of his perfect wife.

But the moment Hailey was present, he instantly dropped the mask, completely unwilling to even pretend.

Gillian was thankful that she hadn't softened and let herself be deceived by his recent facade of kindness. Otherwise, she wouldn't just be a joke right now; she would be a pathetic fool who disgusted even herself.

Right now, Hailey was practically royalty at Eastwood Memorial, completely untouchable.

Watching them leave, Gillian clenched her fists tightly, her breathing erratic.

Hospital politics were no different from any standard corporate battlefield. Promotions and fierce competition were everywhere.
