York's tone was forceful and entirely non-negotiable.
Gillian frowned, fully prepared to reject the offer.
But he spoke again, his voice chillingly calm. "Do not test my patience, and don't push your luck. You said it's close to the hospital and convenient for work, so I'm giving you a bigger place where you and your mother can live comfortably."
"I don't need your rent money, either. If I give it to you, just take it."
Gillian took a deep breath, glaring at him. "The place my mother and I have now is perfectly fine."
"You can't protect the baby in your belly living in an environment like that," York said, his attitude hardening. "If you insist on rejecting me, then your father's situation—"
Gillian gritted her teeth. "Fine. I'll move."
She had no choice but to compromise, praying that Xavier Sterling could secure her father's early release as quickly as possible.
York's lips curled into a smirk. "You won't have to lift a finger. I'll hire people to move all your belongings, and I'll text you the address and unit number later."

After Gillian got off work.
She went straight to the new place—The Greenway Apartment, a massive luxury suite right next to the hospital. It had three bedrooms, a huge living room, and the entire space was incredibly expansive.
The decor wasn't York's typical cold black, white, and gray. Instead, it featured her favorite warm tones and natural wood finishes, making it exceptionally cozy.
Yet, staring at the gorgeous apartment, Gillian couldn't bring herself to feel happy. She was once again forced to live under his roof, crushed under the weight of his power and wealth.
She had moved out in the first place to escape him, but after running in circles, she was right back in his property.
At the time, Gillian genuinely believed that since he was completely infatuated with Hailey, he wouldn't care if she moved out, let alone where she lived.
But she had forgotten one crucial detail: York had never intended to let her go, and he certainly never intended to let her live in peace.
Just then, York called.
"Where are you?" his voice was flat.
