Gillian stared at the car as it gradually disappeared into the distance, slowly pulling her gaze back.

She helped her mother upstairs.

Just after she had calmed her mother down and put her to sleep, Gillian received a call from Hailey Sinclair.

She frowned. Since Hailey had gone abroad, they hadn't had any contact whatsoever. Why was she calling now?

She answered the phone.

The girl's voice on the other end was as sweet and delicate as ever. "Gillian, I'm so sorry to bother you this late."

"I'm currently studying abroad, but I actually have three days off this week. York said he missed me, so I flew back to see him... Originally, he was supposed to come visit me, but he's too tied up with company business to leave."
