Chapter 105 Invitation.
Lady Flourish’s POV
The next morning began like every other workday, except my mind refused to stay on work. No matter how many reports I reviewed or contracts I signed, my thoughts kept drifting back to the conversation I had shared with Damien the night before.
Just a thank you? That’s all?
Even now, remembering the low amusement in his voice made my ears grow warm. I rubbed my forehead before forcing myself to focus on the document in front of me.
“Lady Flourish,” Rhys said, knocking lightly before stepping into my office. “The finance department just sent over Silver Moon Pack’s quarterly purchase report.”
“Leave it here,” I replied.
He placed the thick folder on my desk before hesitating, a knowing smile appearing on his face. “You look distracted today.”
I lifted an eyebrow. “Do I?”
“A little. I’ll pretend I didn’t notice.”
I rolled my eyes while tossing a pen at him. “Get back to work.”
Rhys caught it effortlessly before laughing and leaving my office, allowing the room to become quiet again.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, Stonehedge Pack bustled with its usual energy as employees hurried between departments, warriors patrolled the grounds surrounding F-Tech, and delivery vehicles came and went through the front gates.
Life continued exactly as it always had, but mine, however, seemed to have changed overnight.
Suddenly, my phone vibrated, and the caller ID displayed only one name: Damian. My wolf immediately lifted her head, and I cleared my throat before answering with a quiet, “Hello?”
“Busy?” his deep voice carried through the speaker with effortless calm.
“A little.”
“I’ll keep it short.”
I leaned back in my chair, asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” he replied, followed by a brief pause. “I’ve been invited to an inter-pack dinner this weekend.”
I nodded instinctively before realizing he couldn’t see me. “Congratulations.”
“You’ll be coming with me.” The words left his mouth so naturally that my brain completely failed to process them.
“…What?”
“I said you’re coming with me.”
I blinked several times. “Me?”
“Unless my phone accidentally called another girlfriend.”
Heat immediately climbed up my neck at his words. “You really enjoy calling me that.”
“I do,” his answer came without the slightest hesitation. “It’s accurate.”
I pressed my lips together, refusing to give him the satisfaction of hearing my embarrassment. “What kind of dinner is it?”
“A gathering between several Alpha families.”
“Oh.” That single word suddenly felt incredibly inadequate. Several Alpha families meant influential Alphas, their Lunas, their heirs, and their councils. My fingers tightened slightly around the phone as I asked, “Do I really have to go?”
“You do.”
“I’ll only embarrass you.”
“You won’t,” his confidence remained infuriatingly steady. “I’ve already confirmed you’ll be attending.”
“You confirmed before asking me?”
“I knew your answer.”
I let out a helpless laugh. “And what answer was that?”
“You’d overthink it, then you’d agree anyway.”
I hated how accurate he was. “What should I wear?”

“Whatever you like.”
“I was hoping for something more helpful.”
“You’ll look good regardless.”
:
I pinched the bridge of my nose, realizing flattery really came naturally to him.
“I’ll send someone to pick you up Saturday evening,” he said.
“You don’t have to.”
Finrihed
“I know, but I will.” Before I could argue again, he added calmly, “That’s all. I’ll let you get back
to work.”
The call ended, and I stared at my phone for several long seconds while my wolf quietly wagged her tail inside my mind, excited that he was taking us to meet other packs. She sounded far more excited than I felt.
By noon, work had finally succeeded in dragging my thoughts away from Damien, until my office door burst open and Rhys looked unusually serious.
“Lady Flourish, there may be a problem,” he said, handing me several documents. “The invoice prepared for Silver Moon Pack, the numbers don’t match.”
I scanned the pages, noting that the first invoice quoted the agreed amount, but the second one made my eyes narrow. “… Who approved this revision?”
“No one,” Rhys frowned. “Finance says they never issued it.”
I flipped through every page and realized someone had altered the figures after internal approval. It wasn’t enough to be immediately obvious, but just enough to create distrust once Silver Moon Pack noticed.
“If this reaches them, they’ll think we’re trying to overcharge them and assume we’re dishonest,” Rhys muttered.
I nodded slowly, knowing that rumors spread faster than wildfire among wolves. Trust between packs was difficult to build, and once damaged, sometimes it never recovered. “Call Finance and also bring Legal. I want everyone who touched these documents.”
Less than fifteen minutes later, my conference room had filled with department heads. No one spoke until I finished comparing every signature, and finally, I looked up. “This wasn’t a mistake. It was intentional. Someone replaced the approved invoice before it was transmitted.”
Rhys nodded, asking, “The system logs?”

“Already requested. Freeze today’s transmission,” I instructed as I closed the folder. “I’ll personally contact Silver Moon Pack once we’ve completed our internal investigation.”

Finished
No one objected, and within minutes everyone dispersed to their respective departments, leaving Rhys lingering behind.
“You don’t seem angry,” he noted.
“I am,” I replied, which made him look surprised. “I’ve simply learned that shouting rarely solves accounting fraud.” That statement finally earned a laugh from him.
By the time I left F-Tech, the sky had already begun turning orange. I was unlocking my car when a familiar voice echoed directly inside my mind through a mind link.
*Flourish.*
I smiled immediately. *Devina. Finished working?*
*Just now.*
