Chapter 113 The Old Alpha’s Approval
Alpha Damian’s POV

The sun had barely risen over the eastern ridges of Stonehedge territory when the heavy oak door to my private study was pushed open without a single knock.
“You certainly know how to cause a riot before breakfast, boy,” a booming voice echoed across the room.
I didn’t need to look up from the financial reports on my desk to know who it was. Alpha Magnus, my grandfather, strolled into the room, his white hair neat, his sharp Phina eyes glittering with an unusual mixture of amusement and fierce curiosity.
He pulled out the heavy leather armchair opposite my desk and sat down with a deep sigh, leaning his hands on his carved wooden cane.
“Good morning, Grandfather,” I said, setting my pen down. “I assume the pack council elders have already ruined your morning coffee?”
Magnus barked out a laugh. “Ruined it? They’ve been screaming into their phones since four in the morning! Alpha Robert called me three times to confirm if the Stonehedge pack was preparing for a formal Luna ceremony. My phone hasn’t stopped ringing.”
I leaned back in my chair, keeping my expression entirely neutral. “Let them talk. It saves me the trouble of making another announcement.”
He narrowed his eyes, leaning forward slightly as his posture shifted from playful to serious. “Damian, I watched you at the banquet last night. You didn’t just bring a companion to satisfy protocol. You put your arm around her, you blocked every male who came within five feet, and you called her your Luna in front of the entire territory. Now tell me the truth. Is this just a strategic move to secure F-Tech, or has your wolf finally made up his mind?”
Inside my chest, my wolf lifted his head, letting out a deep, possessive rumble that vibrated through my ribs.
“My wolf recognized her before my brain even had time to process it,” I replied, my voice dropping into a quiet, firm register. “She isn’t a strategy, Grandfather. She is mine.”
He stared at me for a long, silent moment. Then, a slow, genuine smile spread across his weathered face, softening the harsh lines of his brow. “Well, I’ll be damned. I was beginning to think you’d die alone surrounded by spreadsheets and security reports.” He knocked his cane against the rug in satisfaction. “She’s a good girl, Damian. She took over her grandmother’s shares, saved F-Tech from ruin, and didn’t bow her head once to those arrogance-filled fools last night. She has grit.”

“I know,” I said softly.

“What about Harold?” He asked, his tone darkening slightly. “I saw him charging toward you two like a rabid rogue near the terrace last night. He looked ready to snap.”
“Harold made his choice six years ago when he ignored her,” I said coldly. “If he tries to interfere now, I will treat him like any other wolf threatening my mate.”
Magnus nodded slowly, his expression growing stern. “He’s my grandson too, but he’s acting like a fool. His father has been enabling his temper for far too long. Just keep your head clear, Damian. The pack needs stability right now, not a blood feud between brothers.”
Before I could answer, the double doors of the study burst open again, far more violently this time.
My father, Ragnar, stepped into the room, his face dark with fury. Right behind him was my mother, Daciana, her expression strained as she tried to keep the peace.
“Damian!” Ragnar roared, his Alpha aura flaring in an aggressive display that filled the room. “What the hell did you do at the banquet last night?!”
I stayed seated, my own aura flaring instantly to crush his pressure before it reached my desk. The room turned suffocatingly heavy as two dominant forces collided in midair.
“Watch your tone in my office, Father,” I said calmly.
“Watch my tone?!” Ragnar snapped, slamming his fist onto the edge of my desk. “Harold came home last night in an absolute rage! He’s locked himself in his quarters, threatening to challenge your authority over the pack council! You humiliated him, you humiliated Phina, and you paraded his former fiancé around like a trophy!”
“Ragnar, calm down,” Daciana interjected softly, placing a gentle hand on her husband’s arm. “Shouting won’t resolve this.” She turned to me, her eyes filled with concern. “Damian, son… you know how delicate the situation between Harold and Flourish was. Was it necessary to declare her your Luna so publicly? It has humiliated your brother.”
“Harold humiliated himself,” I answered smoothly, looking my father dead in the eye. “He abandoned Flourish for years while expecting her to wait in the shadows forever. He doesn’t own her. And if he thinks he can challenge my authority over the pack council, tell him he is welcome to try. I won’t hold back just because we share blood.”
“You arrogant brat!” Ragnar hissed. “The people who align with Phina and her family controls
half the southern trade routes! Aligning with them through Harold was supposed to secure our border! Now you’ve thrown a wrench into the entire alliance!”
“Enough, Ragnar!”
