Chapter 15 Who Said I Wanted Position?
Lady Flourish’s POV
For a moment, everything went completely silent.
My head snapped to the side from the force of it. A sharp sting spread across my cheek, followed by a familiar numbness.
One I hadn’t felt in years.
Slowly, I lifted my hand to my face.
The room blurred a little, but not because I was crying.
I was furious.
Lydia gasped, Selene froze halfway down the stairs, and

father-
No.
Alpha Garret.
He was breathing heavily, glaring at me as though I was the problem.
As though I was the one destroying this family.
“You ungrateful child,” he growled. “Do you have any idea what Harold has sacrificed for you?”
I laughed.
A single, humorless laugh.
His expression darkened further.
“Something funny?”
I lowered my hand.
“No.”
My voice came out dangerously calm. “I was just wondering if you’ve finally gone
The entire room froze.
Lydia’s face turned white.

Selene looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her whole.
Even Garret seemed shocked for a second.
Then rage exploded across his features.
“You dare-”
“I dare?” I interrupted.
Years.
Years of swallowed pain surged to the surface.
“You locked me in my room for days after my mother died.”
His face stiffened.
“You told me not to call you father.”
His jaw tightened.
“You ignored every accomplishment I’ve ever achieved.”
I took another step closer.
“I built the largest technology company across seven territories.”
Another step.
“I increased the Garret family’s influence more than any alliance ever could.”
Another.
“And yet somehow, all you ever talk about is Harold.”
The Alpha aura in the room intensified.
Servants had begun quietly disappearing from the hallways.
No one wanted to be caught between two angry Alphas.
My wolf was fully awake now.
M
She wasn’t afraid or hurt, just angry. So, very angry. Garret grabbed my arm again.

“You will lower your voice.”
I stared at his hand, then at him. “Take your hand off me.”
“No.”
My wolf snarled, a deep, threatening sound vibrating through the room.
Selene actually took a step backward. Lydia looked like she was close to tears.
“Flourish,” she pleaded softly.
I ignored her as Garret’s grip tightened.
“You are acting like a spoiled child.”
I looked directly into his eyes.
“Then perhaps you should have raised me better.”
The words hit their mark, and his face went red instantly.
For a second, I genuinely thought he would hit me again.
Then, another voice cut through the tension.
“Alpha Garret.” Everyone turned.
Harold stood at the entrance of the living room, his expression was unreadable.
Apparently he hadn’t left after all.
Wonderful.
Just what I needed.
Garret immediately released my wrist, his posture straightening
“Harold.” The older Alpha visibly forced himself to calm down.
Harold’s gaze moved to my face, specifically my cheek.
The red mark I was sure was there glared brightly at him.
His expression darkened. “What happened?”
No one answered because everyone knew.

Harold looked between us, then his eyes settled on Garret. “You… hit her.”
Garret frowned. “She was being disrespectful.”
Harold’s jaw clenched, and something strange flickered across his face.
It looked like regret, but I couldn’t care any less.
Then he looked at me again.
“Flourish.”
I immediately turned away. “I don’t want to hear it.”
His nostrils flared. “Will you stop doing that?”
“Doing what?” I snapped.
“Pretending I’m your enemy.”
I stared at him, and for the first time in a very long time, I realized something.
Harold genuinely didn’t understand.
He truly believed he had done nothing wrong.
The realization was horrifying.
“Enemy?” I repeated. A bitter smile tugged at my lips. “You think that’s what this is?”
His eyes narrowed. “What else would it be?”
I laughed again, this time louder. The sound echoed through the room.
Lydia looked uncomfortable.
Selene looked confused.
Garret looked annoyed.
But Harold…
Harold looked irritated, like my reaction made no sense.
“Harold,” I said quietly.

“When was the last time you asked how I was doing?”
He frowned. “What?”
“When was the last time you asked if I was happy?”
No response.
“When was the last time you chose me?”
His face hardened. “That’s unfair.”
“There it is.” I pointed at him. “Every single time.”
His wolf stirred restlessly.
