Chapter 220 Thr Gate Beneath Stonehedge
Alpha Damian’s POV

The ancient gate cracked again, and this time the force behind it sent a violent tremor through the entire passage.
Dust fell from the ceiling, several warriors stumbled backward, and my wolf lowered its head as a deep pressure spread through the tunnel.
“Nobody moves.”
My command stopped everyone instantly. I stared at the stone wall where Flourish’s voice had disappeared, every muscle in my body tense.
Her scent was still there, but it had changed, carrying a strange Alpha presence that made my wolf recognize her as my mate while also warning me that something inside her had awakened.
Garret stepped closer to the wall. “Damian, we have to leave.”
I turned toward him. “You know what is behind that gate.”
He looked at the ancient markings. “Yes.”
“Then start talking.”
His face tightened. “My daughter’s mother was born into a bloodline believed to have died out generations ago.”
Magnus stepped closer. “Elara.”
Garret nodded. “Her blood carried an old command that could force wolves to obey, even against their Alpha’s will.”
My wolf growled. “And you hid this from Flourish?”
“I hid it because people had been searching for her since she was born.”
Another tremor shook the passage. I looked toward the gate. “Who is behind it?”
His expression changed. “The Voss bloodline.”
The name meant nothing to me. “Who are they?”
“An old family that believed the ancient wolves should rule every pack.”

Magnus’s face darkened. “They were supposed to have been destroyed.”
“Not all of them.”

Before I could demand more, a roar came from behind the gate, and every warrior shifted instinctively.
The sound was not human, and it was not even a normal wolf. My wolf pressed against my ribs, demanding that I get Flourish away from whatever was awakening.
Then her voice came again. “Damian.”
I moved toward the wall. “I’m here.”
Silence followed. Then she whispered, “I’m not alone.”
My heart tightened. “Who is with you?”
“I don’t know.”
A second voice answered from somewhere behind her. “She knows.”
My claws emerged. “Let her go.”
The voice laughed quietly. “You still believe this is about taking her?”
I looked at Garret. His expression told me he understood something I didn’t.
The voice continued. “The heir was never meant to belong to Stonehedge.”
My wolf snarled. “She belongs with me.”
The laughter stopped. “No, Alpha Damian. She belongs to the bloodline.”
The gate shook violently, and a crack spread across the stone. I stepped forward. Magnus caught my shoulder.
“Damian, wait.”
I pulled away. “I am not leaving her.”
“You don’t know what is behind there.”
“I know my mate is.”
My wolf surged forward, and the gate exploded inward. Stone fragments flew through the passage, and warriors raised their arms to protect themselves.

When the dust cleared, a huge chamber appeared beyond the broken entrance.
Flourish stood in the center, her hands bound with silver chains. My entire body went cold.
“Flourish.”
She lifted her head. Her eyes were glowing, not the normal glow of an Alpha wolf, but something older, something that made every wolf around me instinctively lower itself.
A man stood behind her, wearing black armor marked with the Voss crest, his hand resting against her shoulder.
“Take your hand off her.”
His mouth curved into a smile. “You finally came.”
I stepped forward. “Release her.”
He shook his head. “You still don’t understand.” He pointed toward the floor.
I looked down. A circular formation had been carved into the stone around Flourish, blood filling the channels. Garret inhaled sharply behind me.
“What did you do?”
The man looked at him. “Exactly what you failed to do twenty years ago.”
Garret’s face twisted with fear, and I looked between them. “What does that mean?”
Neither answered.
Then Flourish suddenly screamed, her body arching as the markings around her began glowing. My wolf erupted, and I lunged forward.
The man raised his hand, and a force slammed into my chest and threw me across the chamber. I hit the wall hard enough to crack the stone.
“Damian!”
Her voice broke, and I forced myself upright, ignoring the ache in my ribs.
The man smiled. “Now you understand why your Alpha strength is useless here.”
I shifted fully, my claws digging into the floor. “Try me again.”
He did. This time I stayed standing, and I charged. Our wolves collided. His strength was
