Lady Flourish POV

Someone had tried to transfer part of my shares without my permission.

I read the transaction record again, checking the date, the amount, and the account listed as the recipient. My name appeared under the authorization section, but I had never signed or approved anything.

“Don’t close that file,” I told Cheryl through my phone. “Keep the original and send a copy to our legal team.”

Harold stood beside the clinic’s secure workstation while Rhys checked the network logs. Magnus had taken a seat across from me, his attention fixed on the transaction details.

“We need to bring everyone into one secure meeting,” I said. “My legal representatives, Cheryl, and the people responsible for company finance.”

Harold nodded toward Rhys. “He’ll check the connection and monitor the meeting.”

“I agree to security checks,” I said, “but Rhys won’t be given unrestricted access to Flourish company’s systems.”

His brows drew together. “If someone is using your company to reach Stonehedge, I need to know what they can access.”

“You can know what’s relevant to the investigation. You don’t get control over my business.”

“I’m not asking to control it.”

“Then don’t make it sound like you’re taking over.”

Magnus raised a hand before Harold could answer. “The meeting can establish what access is necessary. Flourish has her own company and legal obligations, and those don’t disappear because she’s staying under our protection.”

I looked at Harold. “My business decisions remain mine. I won’t have them placed under Stonehedge’s control because I’m your mate or because my blood has made me a target.”

Harold held my gaze for a moment, then turned to Rhys. “Set up the secure connection. Limit access to the information we need.”

Rhys prepared the room while I called Cheryl. She had already gathered the legal representatives and the department heads responsible for finance and corporate governance.

Once everyone joined, I asked each participant to confirm their identity. Rhys checked their connections and restricted the meeting to the approved devices.

The legal adviser reviewed the attempted transfer first. The document appeared to have passed through a legitimate channel, but the authorization attached to it did not match any instruction I had given.

“Can the transfer still be completed?” I asked.

“Not without further processing,” he replied. “We’ve placed a hold on the request, but we need to notify the relevant financial institution and preserve the records.”

“Do that now. No one changes the company’s approval structure until we finish reviewing this.”

Cheryl brought up the governance request that had arrived earlier. A major shareholder had asked for an urgent review of financial authority and project oversight, citing my absence and the current security crisis.

“Has the shareholder confirmed the request?” I asked.

“Not directly,” she said. “We’re waiting for a response.”

“Then nobody treats it as approved.”

Harold leaned toward the screen. “Can Rhys review the company’s security logs?”

“Our legal team can provide the records connected to this incident,” I said. “He can examine those, but he won’t have open access to employee accounts or unrelated company files.”

Rhys nodded. “That’s enough to start. I’ll need the access records tied to the transfer and any login linked to Stonehedge.”

The meeting continued as the legal team outlined the steps needed to protect my shares. I asked Cheryl to keep the affected projects running unless there was a documented security risk, and told Finance to flag unusual payment requests rather than suspending every transaction.

Then my phone rang.

My father’s name appeared on the screen.

I answered, keeping the call on speaker. “Dad?”

“I need to speak with you privately,” Garret said.

“I’m in a secure meeting.”

“Then leave the room.”

“No. You can speak here, or we can arrange another secure call.”

There was a pause before his face appeared on the workstation. He looked tired, but his expression changed when he noticed Harold and Magnus beside me.

“Why are they there?” he asked.

“Because we’re investigating the tunnels beneath Stonehedge and the attempted transfer of my shares.”

His eyes narrowed. “What transfer?”

I held up the transaction record. “Someone submitted a request to move part of my shares without my approval. At the same time, someone interfered with company operations.”

“I had nothing to do with that.”

“I haven’t accused you yet.”

Harold stepped closer to the screen. “Marvolo Fischer says you hired him to investigate the tunnels.”

Garret’s face hardened. “Marvolo has misunderstood what he was hired to do.”

“What was he hired to do?” Magnus asked.

“To investigate unauthorized activity beneath Stonehedge. I wanted to know who had been using the old passages.”

“Did you know Elara was being held there?” I asked.

Garret looked away from the camera for a brief moment. “This is not the place to discuss your mother.”

“It’s exactly the place. You asked to speak to me, and now you’re avoiding my questions.”

“I’m trying to protect you.”

“Then tell me where she is.”

He didn’t answer.

Harold’s voice grew sharper. “If you have information about the people behind this, provide it now.”
