I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 253

Chapter 253 A Call From Beaumont

Lady Flourish POV

The warrior’s howl continued as the healer and two guards struggled to keep him from hurting himself. Harold pulled me farther back while Magnus ordered everyone to clear the chamber.

“Get him to the clinic,” the healer shouted. “Carefully. His body is changing too fast.”

The guards wrapped a restraint around the warrior’s front legs as his shift continued. His uniform tore, and his wolf twisted against their hold, snapping at anyone who came close.

Harold’s wolf pushed against my senses, urging him to intervene, but he stayed between me and the struggling warrior.

“Let the healer handle it,” I told him.

“I’m not leaving you near him.”

“I’m not asking you to.”

They managed to get the warrior onto a stretcher. The healer went with them, directing the guards toward the pack clinic while the rest of the council moved out through the main doors.

Magnus remained behind with Harold. Rhys was already checking the security console, trying to recover the thermal feed and preserve what footage remained.

I waited until he looked up.

“Did you save the recordings?”

“Yes. I copied everything before the feed dropped.” He turned the tablet toward me. “The last clear image shows movement under the chamber, but the cameras didn’t capture anyone coming through the entrance.”

“Keep another copy somewhere outside the estate system.”

“I’ll send an encrypted copy to the secure server.”

I nodded, then stepped away from the broken floor and called Cheryl.

She answered after two rings.

“Flourish? Are you all right?”

“I’m fine. Has anything else happened at F-Tech?”

“Nothing that has stopped operations, but we’re still reviewing the system. The audit team found something else this afternoon.”

“What?”

“Several employees received messages asking them to verify their access credentials. The messages looked like they came from our internal support team.”

“Did anyone respond?”

“Two employees clicked the link before the warning went out. We’ve locked their accounts and are checking whether anyone accessed their information.”

“Make sure no one else responds,” I said. “Tell everyone that F-Tech will never ask them to verify their credentials through an outside link. If they receive another message, they should forward it to your team without opening anything.”

“I’ll send the notice now.”

“Keep the financial controls in place. No changes to payments, accounts, or shareholder access without the usual approvals. I want every unusual request reviewed.”

“Already done. The finance team has been told not to process anything outside the approved channels.”

“Good. Keep me updated, even if it seems minor.”

I ended the call and looked back toward the chamber. Harold was speaking with Magnus while Rhys worked at the console.

The council table had been moved away from the opening, and the guards were keeping everyone clear of the damaged floor.

My phone rang again and Eugene’s name appeared on the screen.

“Hello?”

“Flourish, I hope I’m not catching you at a bad time.”

“I’m dealing with a security issue. What’s going on?”

“I have a professional matter I’d rather discuss in person. It involves a client with a connection to the shell companies you’ve been investigating.”

I straightened. “What kind of connection?”

“I don’t want to discuss the details over the phone. Some of the documents are confidential, and I need to explain what I’ve found before you decide how to proceed.”

“Where?”

“Beaumont Legal. Could you come by today?”

I glanced at the damaged chamber. “Send me the time and I’ll see what I can arrange.”

“I’ll make myself available whenever you can get here.”

“Send the details.”

“I will.”

The call ended, and a message arrived a few seconds later with the meeting address and a proposed time. I read it twice before putting my phone away.

Harold had finished speaking with Magnus. He came over as I opened my messages again.

“Who was that?”

“Eugene. He wants me to meet him at Beaumont Legal.”

“Why?”

“He has information about a client connected to the shell companies.”

Harold’s expression changed. “You’re not going.”

“I haven’t said when I’m going.”

“You shouldn’t go at all until we know who’s behind the breach.”

“I can’t put F-Tech on hold every time someone threatens me.”

“This isn’t just a threat. Someone got into Stonehedge’s security system, used the tunnels, and tried to reach you.”

“And now there may be information about the same people. I need to hear it.”

“Then Eugene can come here.”

“He said the documents are confidential. He wants to discuss them at his office.”

Harold shook his head. “They could be tracking your movements.”

He looked toward Rhys, who had come closer after hearing our exchange.

“Check the office and the surrounding area,” Harold said. “I want the route checked too. No one leaves until we know it’s safe.”

Rhys nodded. “I’ll arrange an escort and have the location checked before we move.”

“I’m still going,” I said.

Harold looked at me. “I heard you.”

“Then we understand each other.”

His wolf pressed against the pack bond, tense and protective. I could feel it, but I didn’t want another argument about whether I was allowed to work.

“I won’t abandon F-Tech,” I added. “And I won’t let whoever is doing this decide where I can go.”

Harold exhaled through his nose, then turned to Rhys.

“Keep the escort close. If anything looks wrong, you bring her back.”

“I’ll handle it,” Rhys replied.
