I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 259

Chapter 259 Family’s Secret

Lady Flourish POV

Rhys took the photograph from me and sent it to the estate security team. I called Harold while Eugene asked the restaurant staff to keep the envelope and its contents untouched until the lawyers could document them.

“Check the eastern wing,” I told Harold as soon as he answered. “The guest from Eugene’s dinner was photographed entering it.”

“I’m already checking,” he said. “That wing was searched earlier.”

“Then how did the person get inside?”

“We’re looking into it. There’s no official entry record under their name.”

I glanced at the photograph again. The guest was clearly visible near the entrance, but the image didn’t show anyone accompanying them or how they had passed the checkpoint.

“Someone let them in without using the normal access system,” I said.

“That’s what it looks like.”

I heard Harold give an order to someone nearby. His voice changed, carrying the authority of an Alpha addressing his pack.

The person on the other end responded at once.

“Magnus has ordered the wing sealed,” he told me. “No one goes in or out until we finish checking every room and passage.”

“I’m coming back.”

“Bring Rhys. Don’t come alone.”

“I’m with him.”

I ended the call and turned to Eugene. He had already instructed the lawyers to preserve the envelope, photograph, and any other material connected to the missing guest.

I told him to send the dinner records to our legal team through the secure channel, then gathered the documents Rhys had brought with him.

We left for Stonehedge with the photograph and the shell company records.

Rhys stayed in contact with the estate security team throughout the drive, asking for updates and confirming that the eastern wing remained sealed.

The closer we got to the estate, the more I noticed the guards stationed along the road.

Several were in their wolf forms, moving between the security posts. Their presence was unusual for an ordinary evening, even at Stonehedge.

My wolf reacted to their alertness. I felt her attention sharpen as we passed the outer ward, and I had to remind myself that we were returning to an estate already dealing with several security breaches.

When we reached the council chamber, Harold was waiting near the entrance.

Temporary barriers had been placed around the damaged section of the floor, and two guards stood beside them.

The scent of fresh wood and metal filled the corridor where workers had reinforced the area.

Harold came toward us.

“Did you bring the photograph?”

Rhys handed it over. Harold studied it, then passed it to one of the guards.

“Send this to the team searching the eastern wing,” he ordered. “I want them to check the entrance shown here.”

The guard took the photograph and left.

“What happened with the council?” I asked.

“They found the family member connected to the shell company,” Harold said. “But the person disappeared before they could question them.”

“Who?”

“We’re still confirming everything.”

“Harold.”

He looked at me. “The name is in the records. I don’t want to give you an answer until we know it’s correct.”

I held out the documents I had brought. “Rhys has the registration information and the payment trail. The name may already be there.”

Rhys opened the file and showed Harold the relevant page. Harold read it, his expression changing as he reached the name.

He passed the document back without saying anything.

“Do you know this person?” I asked.

“I know the name.”

“Then tell me what the connection is.”

“The council is checking it.”

“That’s not what I asked.”

His jaw tightened. “Flourish, we have a missing guest who may have entered a restricted part of the estate, another breach in the underground system, and a person connected to the shell company who has vanished.

I’m not going to guess at a family connection while all of that is happening.”

“I’m not asking you to guess. I’m asking whether my father knows.”

Harold looked toward the council chamber. “Garret recognized the name.”

“Did he explain why?”

“No.”

I stared at him. “He refused?”

“He said he wasn’t ready to discuss it.’

My anger rose before I could stop it. “My mother was hidden from me. People have been moving through tunnels beneath this estate, and now my father recognizes a name tied to the company financing access to them. How much more are we expected to accept without an explanation?”

Harold’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t answer immediately. His Alpha aura pressed against the corridor, and the guards nearby shifted their stance. I felt my own wolf respond, resisting the

pressure.

“I understand why you’re angry,” he said at last. “But I can’t force Garret to speak in the middle of a security crisis.”

“Then someone needs to make it clear that waiting is no longer an option.”
