Chapter 289 Anonymous Deposit
Lady Flourish
I was still holding my phone when I reached F-Tech.
Rhys had called ahead. By the time I stepped through the security doors, Cheryl and the finance team were gathered around the main conference screen. Nobody was talking.
That alone told me the amount was serious.
“What happened?”
Cheryl turned from the screen.
“The dormant account received a deposit twenty minutes ago.”
“How much?”
She tapped the screen.
I stared at the figure.
It was more than F-Tech had made across the previous two quarters combined.
For a few seconds, nobody spoke.
“Where did it come from?”

“That is the problem,” one of the finance officers said. “The sending account is registered under the name Voss.”
I looked at Rhys.
He was already checking his tablet.
“I can trace the bank route,” he said.
“You don’t need to.”
Everyone looked at me.
“It’s him.”
Rhys lowered the tablet.

“You’re sure?”
“Yes.”
I picked up my phone and called Callum.
He answered after two rings.
“Flourish.”
“Why did you put money into my company?”
There was a pause.
“You found it quickly.”
“Callum.”
“I expected you would.”
“Take it back.”
“No.”
My jaw tightened.
“You don’t get to put that kind of money into F-Tech without asking me.”
“I wasn’t asking for permission.”
“That is obvious.”
His voice remained calm.
“I am not trying to buy your loyalty.”
“Then what are you doing?”

“Giving you resources that belong to you without placing them under anyone else’s control.”
I looked at the number on the screen again.
“You call this giving me resources?”
“Yes.”
“You sent it through a company account.”

“A dormant account with no connection to your operating funds.”
“That doesn’t make it acceptable.”
“Listen to me.”
I almost ended the call, but something in his voice made me wait.
“You are the First Alpha’s daughter,” he said. “Whether you wanted that responsibility or not, people already know what you carry. Stonehedge has protected you. Steele Holdings was tied to your family. F-Tech is yours. Every one of those structures can be used against you.”
I said nothing.
“If you ever become financially dependent on one of them, someone will eventually use that dependence as leverage.”
“That still doesn’t give you the right to decide what I need.”
“No. But it gives me the right to offer.”
“I don’t want it.”
“You can say that after you’ve had Eugene review the structure.”
I stared through the glass wall at the finance team.
“I’m returning it.
“Flourish.”
“What?”
“The money is not tied to Stonehedge, and it isn’t tied to any demand from me.”
“Then take it back.”
“I won’t.”
The call ended.
I lowered my phone slowly.
Cheryl was watching me.
“What did he say?”

“He says it’s a gift.”
She looked at the screen.
“That is a very large gift.”
“I know.”
One of the finance officers cleared his throat.
“If we return it immediately, the transaction will still remain on the banking record.”
I looked at him.
“What are you saying?”
“That a transfer this size will attract attention either way. Returning it doesn’t erase the deposit. It may actually create more questions.”
Cheryl nodded.
“She’s right.”
I looked at her.
“You think we should keep it?”
“I think we should stop treating this as a personal argument and look at the company.”
She pulled a chair closer.
“The account is dormant. We can freeze the funds, remove them from normal company access, and have Eugene’s firm place them under independent legal control.”
“I don’t want Callum’s money.”
“You don’t have to use it.”
“It’s still his.”
“Yes. And refusing it publicly could tell everyone who is watching that the money came from him.”
That made me pause.
Cheryl continued.

“Right now, nobody outside this room knows what happened. If we move it correctly, the funds stay isolated while Eugene establishes the legal structure. F-Tech doesn’t touch them.”
Rhys finally spoke.
“She has a point.”
I looked at him.
“You too?”
“I’m not saying trust Callum. I’m saying don’t make a financial decision while you’re angry.”
My wolf shifted beneath my skin.
“Be careful.”
I rubbed my forehead.
“I hate this.”
Cheryl gave me a small smile.
“I know.”
I picked up the phone again.
“Call Eugene.”
Cheryl reached for hers.
I stopped her.
“No. I’ll speak to him myself.”
Twenty minutes later, Eugene joined the call.
I explained everything, including the account, the amount, and what Callum had told me.
Eugene was quiet for a moment.
“Do not move the money yet.”
“I wasn’t planning to.”
“Good. I’ll have my team review the transfer and prepare a structure that keeps F-Tech

completely separate from the funds.”
“Can Callum access them?”
“Not if the documents are drafted properly.”
“And if there are conditions attached?”
“Then we find them before you sign anything.”
I glanced at Rhys.
“Do that.”
Eugene agreed.
