I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 294

Chapter 294 Discovery

Alpha Harold POV

I barely slept after leaving Phina’s room.

The scent from the hallway stayed in my mind, along with the look on her face when I told her I wasn’t willing to pretend everything was fine.

I had no proof that she was hiding anything, but I had spent enough years around wolves to know when my instincts were telling me to pay attention.

By morning, I had made a decision.

I called one of my trusted pack members. “I need you to check Phina’s movements over the last month.”

There was a pause.

“You want me to investigate her?”

“Quietly.”

“What exactly should I look for?”

“Anything unusual. Travel records, meetings, medical visits. Whatever you can legally access.”

“I’ll handle it.”

I ended the call and stared through the hotel window.

My wolf had not relaxed.

“He is looking for something.”

“I know.”

“I hope he finds nothing.”

“So do I.”

For the next few hours, I stayed away from Phina. She sent me two messages asking where I was. I didn’t answer either.

Around noon, my phone rang. “I found something.”

I sat upright.

“What?”

“She visited a clinic twice in the past month.”

My hand tightened around the phone.

“What kind of clinic?”

“Private women’s health clinic. The first appointment was routine. The second was different.”

“Different how?”

“She had a pregnancy confirmation appointment.”

The room went quiet.

“When?”

He gave me the date.

I checked the calendar.

The appointment had happened weeks before I ever agreed to visit Phina.

My wolf stopped moving.

Then he went completely still.

“Harold.”

I closed my eyes.

“Send me the records.”

“They’re already on your secure line.”

I opened the file.

There was the clinic’s confirmation, the appointment date, and the estimated pregnancy timeline.

I read it twice.

Then a third time.

The dates did not fit me.

My wolf’s anger came hard and fast.

“This is what she brought us here for.”

I stood.

I finally understood the dinner, the clothes, the perfume, the way she had kept touching my hand. She hadn’t been trying to repair our marriage.

She had been trying to create a memory that could be used later.

I called her.

“Come to my room.”

She answered after several rings.

“Harold?”

“Come here.”

She went quiet.

“Is something wrong?”

“Just come.”

She arrived twenty minutes later.

The moment she entered, she knew from my face that something had changed.

“What happened?”

I turned the phone toward her.

She looked at the screen.

Her face lost its color.

“Where did you get that?”

“Answer me.”

She looked away.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“The clinic.”

She swallowed. “What clinic?”

“The one you visited twice.”

Her eyes returned to mine.

“You had someone follow me?”

“I had someone check your recent movements.”

“You had no right.”

“You’re right. I shouldn’t have needed to.”

She stared at me.

I opened the pregnancy record.

“You were confirmed pregnant before I agreed to come here.”

Her lips parted.

“Harold-”

“Don’t.”

I had not raised my voice.

I didn’t need to.

“Whose child is it?”

She shook her head.

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know?”

“It happened when we were separated.”

“You know who it is.”

“I was lonely.”

“That isn’t an answer.”

She started crying.
