Chapter 297 Callum’s Offer
Lady Flourish POV
Callum walked toward the front door, and Damian moved with him.
“Inside,” Damian said. “But the guards stay where they can see you.”
Callum stopped and looked at him. For a second, I thought he might argue. Instead, he nodded.
“That is fine.”
I stepped aside. Damian stayed close to me as Callum entered the estate. The guards closed the gate behind him, but two remained outside the entrance.
I could still feel the pack wards around the property, active beneath the ground and walls, checking every scent and movement within their range.
We led him into the sitting room. Damian took the chair opposite Callum, while I sat beside him.
Callum looked around before facing me.
“You wanted to speak about Phina,” I said.
“I did.”
“Then speak.”
He took a breath.
“I want to put the remaining Voss resources behind you.”
Damian’s expression changed slightly.
I said nothing.
Callum continued. “The money, properties, businesses, contacts, and influence that remain under my control. I want them placed where they can support you.”
“You already sent money to F–Tech.”
“That was a beginning.”
“And now you want to hand over everything else?”
“Not hand over.”
His answer came quickly.
“Align. There is a difference.”
I leaned back.
“Explain it.”
Callum folded his hands.
“You have enemies with access to money, information, pack systems, and armed wolves. Voss is involved with the Eastern Army, but I don’t believe they are the only people moving against you. Whoever is behind Phina has resources too.”
Damian spoke before I could.
“And your solution is to give her more money?”
“My solution is to make sure she cannot be outspent or pushed aside simply because someone else has deeper pockets.”
Callum looked at me.
“I am not asking you to become anyone’s ruler. I am not asking you to take control of Voss territory or use my family name. I want what remains of my family’s power to stand behind you instead of being left scattered or taken by someone else.”
I watched him carefully.
“You have spent weeks keeping your distance.”
“Yes.”
“You watched from the shadows. You sent information through other people. You gave me money without explaining everything attached to it. Why change now?”
Callum lowered his eyes briefly.
“Because of Phina.”
The room became quiet.
He looked at me again.
“When she showed you that message, I realized something.”
“What?”
“The people hunting this bloodline are willing to throw away their own assets when those assets stop being useful.”
His voice was lower now.
“Phina spent years inside Stonehedge. She married Harold. She gathered information for them. The moment they believed she had become a liability, they told her she was finished.”
His jaw tightened.
“I don’t want that happening to you.”
Damian shifted in his chair.
“She is your niece.”
“I know.”
“Is that the only reason?”
Callum looked at him.
“It should be enough.”
Damian did not answer.
Callum’s gaze returned to me.
“I should have done more before now.”
“You were afraid.”
“Yes.”
He did not deny it.
“I knew enough to understand what Voss had become, but I didn’t know how far the people behind it had reached. I thought staying quiet would keep me alive long enough to help when the right moment came.”
“And now you think the right moment is here?”
“I think waiting has already cost too much.”
I looked down at my hands.
His offer was not small. If he meant everything he had described, it could change how much influence I had over my own affairs. It could also make me a larger target.
I studied him again.
“If you put Voss wealth behind me, your enemies will know exactly where to look.”
“I know.”
“And they may come after you too.”
“They already are.”
