Chapter 304 The Packs On The Map

The map remained lit beneath us, its lines connecting territories I had never considered part of the same history. Stonehedge. Dartwood.
Then five more packs, each marked by the same bloodline symbol.
Rhys crouched beside the stone surface, taking pictures from several angles. He compared them with the records on his tablet, moving between the old symbols and modern pack names.
“Three of these territories are still active,” he said. “Maybe four.”
“Maybe?” I asked.
“Some records are old. Pack borders changed after the Eastern conflicts. I need time to match everything.”
Damian stood opposite him. “Which ones are active?”
Rhys pointed to the northern markings. “Northvale. Grey Ridge. Mooncrest. The others are harder to identify.”
studied the map again. The lines were not random. Each territory connected back to the central symbol that had reacted to my blood.
Callum arrived before Rhys could finish. He had come with two Stonehedge guards, but the moment he saw the map, he stopped.
“What is that?”
“Something beneath Dartwood,” Damian said.
Callum moved closer. His face changed when Rhys pointed out two of the marked territories.
“Northvale and Mooncrest.”
“You know them?”
“They were Voss allies.”
The words made the room quiet.
“How close?” I asked.

Callum looked at me. “Old allies. They supported Voss during several territorial disputes before the Eastern Army became openly aggressive.”
Damian’s expression hardened.
“Then this is bigger than Stonehedge and Dartwood.”
“It always was,” Callum said.
I didn’t answer.
Rhys zoomed in on the map.
“There are connections between the territories, but they’re not roads or borders.”
“What are they?” Damian asked.
“I don’t know yet.”
Callum reached toward one of the markings but stopped before touching it.
“These symbols were used by old bloodline houses. They were supposed to represent protected territories.”
“Protected from what?”
Callum looked at me.
“That part was never written down.”
My phone started vibrating.
Then another one did.
Rhys checked his device.
“F-Tech is receiving emergency requests.”
“How many?”
“Six so far.”
He opened the first message. A pack in the northern region needed immediate security upgrades. Another wanted communication encryption. A third had requested help securing their financial systems.
The requests kept coming while we watched.

I looked at the incoming messages.
“They trust F-Tech.”
Rhys nodded. “More than they trust most pack authorities.”
That was when I understood what F-Tech could become in this conflict.

It wasn’t an army. It didn’t command wolves. But it controlled systems that kept packs connected, protected their borders, tracked threats and moved money when they needed it. If Voss wanted to isolate territories, F-Tech could help prevent that.
I looked at Damian.
“We can help them.”
His eyes stayed on the requests.
“You mean security support.”
“Exactly. No political agreements. No promises of loyalty. We provide systems, emergency communication, tracking support and whatever else they need.”
Callum watched me carefully.
“You understand what that will look like.”
“I do.”
“If you start protecting these packs, Voss will say you’re building your own alliance.”
“I can’t control what Voss says.”
Damian finally spoke.
“He’s right about one thing. Once we start helping them, some packs will see you as a leader whether you ask for that position or not.”
“I won’t ask them to follow me.”
“You don’t have to.”
I looked back at the map.
That was the part I didn’t like.

The bloodline had already made people look at me differently. Now F-Tech was giving me a practical way to help them, and I couldn’t pretend the two things had nothing to do with each other.
“Then we’ll make the rules clear,” I said. “F-Tech helps because they need help. Nothing more.”
Damian gave a small nod.
Rhys started typing.
“I’ll create a separate emergency program. Independent from Voss-linked funding and separate from the existing pack agreements.”
“Good.”
He turned toward me.
“You’ll need approval from the board.”
“I’ll handle that.”
Callum folded his arms.
“You’ll also need to decide who gets access to the upgraded systems. If Voss has people inside some of these packs, giving them F-Tech equipment could expose the whole network.”
“Then we screen every request.”
Rhys nodded. “Scent verification?”
“Yes. Pack identity, Alpha authorization and individual access checks. No exceptions.”
The Dartwood wolves standing near the entrance listened without interrupting. One of them stepped forward.
“We can provide trained trackers for the verification process.”
I looked at him.
“Do it. I want every field technician accompanied by someone who can recognize a false scent.”
Damian nodded in approval.
Callum looked at the map again.
“There is another problem.”

“If those two territories really were connected to Voss, they may know about this network.”
“Which means they could already be watching the other packs.”
“Exactly.”
For several minutes, nobody spoke.
I stared at Grey Ridge’s marking.
If someone had built this network before our current territories existed, then the people behind it had known that these packs would eventually matter. I didn’t know why. I didn’t even know what the bloodline symbol meant yet.
But now people were asking F-Tech for protection.
They were scared.
And they were looking in my direction.
Damian walked toward me and lowered his voice.
“You’re becoming powerful without even trying.”
I looked at him.
“Is that your way of complaining?”
“No. I’m deciding whether I should be worried about my wife becoming more important than me.”
I stared at him for a second before laughing.
“You’re an Alpha. You’ll survive.”
“That’s not an answer.”
“I married an Alpha, not a politician.”
His mouth lifted.
“Good. I was beginning to think I had competition.”
“You definitely do.”
