I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77 The Reason Behind

Lady Flourish’s POV

Play hen

From where I stood, I could practically see my father’s confidence cracking beneath Damian’s gaze.

Although Garrett was an entire generation older than him, their statuses placed them on equal footing.

Under normal circumstances, neither Alpha would need to bow to the other. Yet the moment Damian stepped forward, stopping Garrett’s raised hand with effortless ease, the atmosphere shifted completely.

The fury on Garrett’s face faltered.

Slowly, he withdrew his hand, though irritation still tightened every line of his expression.

“So now I can’t even discipline my own daughter?” he asked coldly.

A trace of frost touched Damian’s lips. It was barely a smile.

At the same time, his wolf surfaced just enough for those standing nearby to sense it. The pressure lasted only a second, but both Garrett and I noticed immediately.

Damian’s dark eyes remained fixed on my father.

“Flourish is the one who was wronged,” he said evenly. “What exactly is there for you to discipline?”

The expressions throughout the hall shifted once again.

With a single sentence, he stripped away every excuse and every attempt to redirect blame.

The entire spectacle suddenly looked exactly as it was.

Ragnar stepped forward before Garrett could respond. Although he was smiling, there wasn’t a trace of warmth behind it.

“Alpha Garrett,” he said, his voice measured, “our family owes you a proper explanation and an apology for what happened today. You have my word that I will not go back on my promise.”

Everyone understood what he meant.

After tonight, the story spreading across the internet would be simple.

The Virel heir had publicly humiliated the Garret family’s daughter.

No matter how people framed it, I was one of the biggest victims in this disaster.

Ragnar’s eyes settled on me. For several moments, he simply looked at me, complicated.

“Flourish,” he said quietly, “you’ve been wronged today.”

his expression

I met his gaze calmly. “I’m fine,” I replied. “Just don’t put the blame on me. Harold’s feelings were one-sided. I merely helped him along.”

The corner of Ragnar’s mouth twitched. He clearly had no response to that.

My gaze drifted toward Phina instead. The moment our eyes met, her shoulders stiffened.

A cold smile curved my lips. “Congratulations,” I said softly. “You got exactly what you wanted.”

The color immediately drained from her face.

I tilted my head slightly. “And credit where it’s due. After yesterday’s accident, you still found time to visit my grandmother. That was very thoughtful of you.”

Her eyes widened.

“When she wakes up, I’ll make sure you’re the first to hear.”

The reaction was immediate.

Phina visibly jolted. The surprise flashing across her face told me everything I needed to know.

Harold might not understand the implication behind my words, but the hostility in my eyes was impossible to miss.

His expression darkened. “Why are you targeting her?”

Before I could answer, Phina instinctively moved behind him. She looked fragile.

Wronged.

Pitiful.

The perfect victim.

“Harold,” she whispered shakily, “Flourish must be misunderstanding me. I didn’t visit her grandmother. You took me home yesterday and I never went anywhere afterward.”

Foushed

Harold immediately turned toward me. “Flourish, stop dragging Phina into your problems.”

His voice grew colder. “Maybe you should take a look at yourself instead.”

Under normal circumstances, neither Ragnar nor Daciana would have tolerated him speaking to me that way.

Not after years of treating me as their future daughter-in-law.

But tonight had changed everything.

The bond between our families had been severed in front of hundreds of witnesses.

From this moment onward, I was no longer family.

I was simply another she-wolf.

A silent laugh escaped me.

Just as I was about to respond, a thunderous roar echoed across the hall.

“Harold, you ungrateful brat! Shut your mouth!”

The entire venue froze.

Alpha Magnus had risen to his feet.

His face was flushed with fury.

“Grandpa-”

“Alpha Magnus-”

Harold and Daciana spoke at the same time.

“Don’t call me that!” His roar cut them off instantly. “It disgusts me!”

The old Alpha pointed furiously toward the giant screen where the video had finished playing.

“Instead of blaming everyone else, why don’t you look at the mess you’ve made yourself?”

His chest heaved with anger. “That is enough. You and Phina will apologize to Flourish right

now.”

Silence swept through the room. Everyone knew why Magnus was so furious.

Before his Luna passed away, she had made him promise to take Harold and

seriously.

Watching it collapse into a public scandal was the last thing he had ever wanted.

Unfortunately, Harold had no intention of listening.

“Grandpa,” he said stiffly, “why should we apologize?”

Magnus looked ready to explode. “Do my words mean nothing to you now?”

Finksbed

The fury in his eyes was enough to make several nearby Alphas lower their heads. I knew immediately that Harold would never apologize.

Not in front of Phina.

Not in front of everyone.

Sure enough, he seized Phina’s wrist and turned away. The gesture caused Magnus to stagger.

His hand flew to his chest as pain flashed across his face. “Fine.” His voice trembled with rage.

“Ragnar, take a good look at the son you raised.”

The hall fell silent.

“I will not concern myself with him anymore.”

Every word landed heavily.

“From today onward, he is not to call me Grandpa, nor is he welcome at Stonehedge Villa.”

“Dad!”

Ragnar’s face changed instantly.

“Alpha Magnus!”

Several people rushed forward at once.

Daciana and Ragnar quickly supported him as his wolf became unstable beneath the force of his emotions.

For several tense minutes, everyone remained gathered around him until his breathing gradually steadied.

Eventually, the old Alpha looked up.

This time, his gaze settled on me. The anger disappeared.

Only guilt remained.
