Chapter 80 A Quite Night
Phina’s POV
The moment Harold ushered me out of the ceremony, I knew he was furious.
Fit hed
His jaw remained tightly clenched as he gripped the steering wheel, the veins on the back of his hand standing out beneath his skin.
The car shot onto the road like an arrow released from a bow, the engine roaring louder and louder until the dashboard began flashing warning lights, accompanied by a string of impatient beeps.
He was driving far above the speed limit.
instinctively tightened my grip on my seatbelt, my fingers turning pale from the force.
“Harold…” I said softly, trying not to provoke him. “You’re driving too fast.”
The oppressive pressure rolling off his Alpha wolf filled every corner of the car, making it difficult to breathe.
As a junior Omega, my wolf instinctively shrank beneath his aura. There was nothing she could do except whimper helplessly.
Harold didn’t respond. His blue eyes remained fixed on the road ahead, dark and stormy.
The empty streets blurred past outside the windows.
Only when we reached a red light nearly ten minutes later did the car finally slow to a stop.
The silence lingered for another few seconds before Harold let out a long breath, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly.
He turned to look at me from the corner of his eye, and the coldness on his face softened just a little.
“Sorry, Phina,” he said quietly. “Did I scare you just now?”
I forced a small smile despite the lingering fear in my chest. “No, Harold. I understand. You’re just in a bad mood.”
As soon as the words left my mouth, another thought surfaced.
If Flourish had been sitting here instead of me, she never would have spoken so gently.

Fintoned
She would have frowned, folded her arms, and lectured Harold about traffic laws, reckless driving, and every possible consequence of speeding.
A tedious woman.
No wonder Harold always looked exhausted whenever she was around.
The light turned green, and Harold drove forward at a much calmer pace this time.
After several minutes, he spoke again. “Are you hungry?”
I blinked before looking over at him.
“Do you want to grab something to eat?”
The heaviness pressing against my chest eased ever so slightly.
“Sure,” I answered with a gentle smile. “I’ll go with you.”
Today’s ceremony had turned into complete chaos.
I had never imagined that Flourish would expose everything so ruthlessly in front of the entire werewolf society.
Still…
Things hadn’t ended entirely badly for me.
The feelings Harold and I had hidden for years had finally been dragged into the open.
Although people would gossip for a while, what did it matter? Once I officially became Harold’s Luna, those same people would eventually forget today’s scandal.
The powerful always rewrote history.
As for Flourish…
Once today’s events settled, she would gradually disappear from the circles we moved in.
How could the overlooked daughter of the Garrett family ever compare with me?
A faint sense of satisfaction quietly bloomed inside me.
Harold, however, seemed completely unaware of the thoughts running through my mind.
Without warning, he broke the silence again. “Is what Flourish said today true?”

My heartbeat skipped.
His hands remained on the steering wheel as he continued in an even voice. “Did you really visit Lady Josephine?”
For a split second, my heart tightened.
I looked at him with slightly reddened eyes before slowly shaking my head. “Harold… how could I?”
My voice trembled with hurt.
“I don’t understand why Flourish would deliberately accuse me like that, but I swear on my life that I never went to see Lady Josephine.”
I lowered my gaze sadly.
“Maybe her grandmother suddenly became ill, and she just needed someone to blame.”
Harold frowned deeply.
He remained silent for several moments before finally sighing. “I know. I trust you.”
The knot in my chest loosened.
Harold had always believed me. No matter what happened, he had never doubted my words.
As for Flourish… Perhaps today’s humiliation had driven her to lash out at anyone she could.
Nothing about her accusation made sense.
Harold clearly didn’t wish to discuss the matter any further.
He turned the car toward a quiet twenty-four-hour restaurant on the edge of Stonehedge before parking neatly outside.
The late-night diner was nearly empty.
Soft music drifted through the room while warm lights reflected against the polished wooden tables, making the atmosphere unexpectedly peaceful after the storm we’d just escaped.
Harold ordered several dishes without even asking me.
They were all my favorites. “You still remember,” I said with a smile.
He looked up from the menu. “Of course. You’ve barely eaten these past few days because of your moon sickness. At least eat a little tonight.”

My wolf stirred weakly inside me. The moon sickness had drained nearly all my strength lately.
Some mornings I woke up unable to keep breakfast down, while on others my entire body felt unbearably cold despite the summer weather.
Even my appetite had nearly disappeared.
But somehow…
Eating with Harold made everything seem easier.
