Chapter 88 Safe Lady
Lady Flourish’s POV
The moment the bracelet was declared sold, I felt an inexplicable wave of irritation.

I reached for the bottle of water that had been left on the table, unscrewed the cap, and took a small sip before setting it back down.
Only afterward did I remember Damian’s promise.
He had once told me that if I ever needed anything, I could ask him for one wish.
A faint crease appeared between my brows.
A bracelet… isn’t worth using that promise.
I shook the thought away. There would be other opportunities.
Pulling my mask back over my face, I rose from my seat. “I’m leaving.”
Lydia barely looked up before nodding absently, her attention already drifting back toward the stage.
Without another word, I walked out of the auction gallery.
The corridor outside was noticeably quieter. I intended to stop by the restroom to freshen up before heading home, but after only a few steps, my knees suddenly weakened beneath me.
I reached for the wall to steady myself.
A strange heat spread through my body, leaving my limbs unusually sluggish.
My wolf stirred uneasily inside me, pacing restlessly as though sensing danger long before I did.
Something was wrong. Very wrong.
My mouth felt unnaturally dry.
My breathing became uneven as I tried to remember everything that had happened over the past few minutes.
Then my eyes widened.
The water.

I had promised myself before coming today that I wouldn’t eat or drink anything at the
auction.
Losing the bracelet had distracted me just enough to forget.
Someone had tampered with the water.
I bit the inside of my cheek hard enough to taste blood, forcing myself to stay conscious.
Finished
My wolf continued howling inside my mind, desperately trying to push forward to protect me, but my body felt too heavy to respond.
Every instinct screamed at me to find somewhere safe.
I staggered into the women’s restroom and immediately locked myself inside one of the stalls.
My breathing became faster.
The strange heat coursing through me refused to settle, and my wolf grew increasingly agitated, scratching against the edge of my consciousness.
I pulled out my phone with trembling fingers.
“Think…”
I tried to send a mind link.
Dev.
Damian.
Anyone. Even Lydia.
But my wolf was in such turmoil that I couldn’t focus long enough to establish a connection.
A second later, I heard footsteps outside.
Then…
The restroom door opened.
My heart lurched violently.
Without hesitation, I reached into my pocket and wrapped my fingers around the silver knife I had been carrying ever since the incident with Selene.

Its cold handle steadied me.
I tightened my grip.
If someone forced their way inside…. I would defend myself.
I slowed my breathing as much as I could, forcing my panicked thoughts into order.
Stay calm.
One strike if I have to.
Protect yourself first.
The approaching footsteps echoed steadily across the tiled floor.
Closer.
Closer.
I held my breath.
Finished
Then a heavy thud echoed through the restroom, followed immediately by a man’s pained
scream.
“What the hell-”
Several hurried footsteps followed.
They stopped just outside my stall.
“It’s me.”
Damian’s calm voice came through the door.
“Flourish. Open the door. I’ll get you out of here.”
At the same moment, the familiar pressure of his Alpha aura spread through the room.
It wasn’t overwhelming.
It was controlled.
Steady.
Grounding.

My frantic wolf, which had been clawing wildly moments ago, gradually settled.
My shaking fingers unlocked the door.
The moment it opened, I looked up and met Damian’s eyes.
Relief crashed through me so suddenly that my vision blurred.
“It’s really you…”
My voice came out weak. “Damian… How did you get here?”
His expression tightened the instant he saw my condition.
Instead of answering immediately, he studied my face with unmistakable concern.
“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
The back of his hand briefly touched my forehead before he frowned.
My skin was burning.
“You’re running a fever.”
I shook my head weakly.
“I… don’t think it’s a fever.”
My breathing grew increasingly uneven.
“Take me to the healers. I think… I was drugged.”
The warmth disappeared from Damian’s eyes, replaced by a frightening coldness.
For just an instant, the air around him seemed to freeze.
Without another word, he bent down and lifted me carefully into his arms.
