Chapter 91 Without Confrontation
Lady Flourish’s POV
I refused Damian’s offer to have someone escort me home.

After everything that had happened over the past week, I wanted nothing more than a little silence.
The bracelet rested quietly against my wrist as I drove back to my apartment. Every now and then, my eyes drifted toward it before returning to the road ahead.
This was the bracelet Grandma had wanted.
Or rather… the bracelet I had wanted to buy for Grandma.
In the end, Damian had purchased it without saying a word and fastened it around my wrist himself.
I still couldn’t understand why.
His proposal earlier today had already turned my thoughts into complete chaos. Now there was this bracelet, another kindness I hadn’t asked for and couldn’t quite figure out how to repay.
The deeper I thought about it, the more impossible Damian became to understand.
By the time I reached home, the sky had already darkened.
I changed into comfortable clothes before sitting quietly beside the window, my fingers absentmindedly tracing the cool jade beads around my wrist.
“Grandma…” A bitter smile tugged at my lips. “I couldn’t buy it myself after all.”
The apartment remained deathly silent, and no familiar voice answered me anymore.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
Instead of spending those days resting, I was busy putting together every piece of evidence I needed.
The surveillance footage from the auction house. The hospital’s medical report confirming that I had been drugged. The security records from the restroom corridor.
One by one, every document found its place inside a neatly organized folder on my desk.
I had no intention of letting Lydia walk away from this.

Some mistakes could be forgiven, drugging a female and arranging for them to be marked without consent was not one of them.
The moment everything was prepared, I submitted a formal complaint to the Wolf Council’s Judicial Division.
Among wolves, crimes involving forced mating attempts and the use of illegal suppressants carried severe penalties. Even if Lydia escaped criminal punishment, an official investigation alone would be enough to stain both her reputation and the Garret family’s standing.
I wasn’t looking for revenge, even though my wolf wanted nothing but to tear them apart, I simply wanted justice.
The complaint had barely been filed when panic erupted inside the Garret residence. I was able to listen in to the conversations, because Mira had mindlinked me that evening right as I prepared for dinner at my own home.
I listened intently, plating my food on the table.
Lydia stormed into Garrett’s study, her usually elegant appearance nowhere to be found.
“Garrett, your daughter has completely lost her mind!” she cried. “I only wanted her to meet my nephew that day, and now she’s accusing him of attempted assault before the Wolf Council! Does she have any idea what kind of consequences this could bring?”
Garrett’s face darkened immediately. “What?” He slammed the documents in his hands onto the desk. “She actually filed a formal complaint?”
Lydia nodded repeatedly, her eyes already turning red. “I never imagined she’d go this far. Even if she dislikes my family, she can’t simply fabricate accusations like this.”
Garrett frowned deeply. “The Council won’t investigate without evidence.”
A flicker of unease crossed Lydia’s expression. “Have you forgotten who your daughter is?” she asked through gritted teeth. “She’s the CEO of FTech. She has an entire legal department working for her. If she wanted to build a convincing case, do you really think she couldn’t?”
Garrett’s brows knitted together. After several moments of silence, he finally exhaled. “She’ll return to work soon,” he said. “I’ll talk to her myself.”
I snorted despite myself, thanked Mira, and went to bed.
Three days later, I returned to FTech.
The moment I stepped out of the elevator, countless employees greeted me respectfully.

I acknowledged each greeting with a small nod before heading toward my office. Rhys was already waiting outside, a tablet tucked beneath one arm.
His expression softened the instant he saw me. “You’ve lost weight.”
I glanced at him. “I’ve been through worse.”
He studied me for another moment before sighing quietly. “The negotiations with the Silvermoon Pack have been postponed until this afternoon. If you’d like, I can move everything back another few days.”
I shook my head. “Bereavement leave doesn’t stop the world from turning.”
Grandma had taught me that herself.
People could mourn, but life would continue regardless.
Rhys gave a helpless smile before handing me the day’s schedule. “The Silvermoon Pack wants to renegotiate the crystal supply agreement. Their Beta insists the original contract favors us too heavily.”
I glanced through the report. “They’re wrong.”
“I know.”
“Then let’s go hear why they think they’re right.”
By early afternoon, Rhys and I arrived at the Silvermoon Pack’s territory.
The welcoming ceremony was polite enough, but the atmosphere inside the council hall quickly turned tense.
An elderly Beta placed several contracts on the table before us.
“These are all the agreements from the past five years,” he said. “As for the original territory records you requested, they’ve already been archived. Retrieving them will take several days.”
I closed the file without even opening it. “The records kept by your patrol division should have duplicate copies.”
The Beta smiled faintly. “Our patrol wolves are extremely busy these days. I’m afraid they won’t have time to search through old documents for you.”

Rhys glanced toward me. Most people expected me to lose my temper.
Instead, I simply smiled. “I understand.”
No argument.
No confrontation.
Negotiations weren’t won by raising one’s voice.

After reviewing the available documents, Rhys and I left the council chamber shortly before evening.
As we crossed the courtyard, I noticed several patrol wolves chatting near the training grounds.
Without hesitation, I walked toward them. Rhys blinked.
