Refuse To Be Your Luna

Chapter 92 Family Apologies

Lady Flourish’s POV

Before Rhys could reply, my phone began vibrating. The screen displayed only one name.

Garrett.

I stared at it for several seconds before pressing decline.

Rhys noticed. “Not answering?”

“Nothing important.” When we returned to FTech headquarters, however, I discovered Garrett waiting outside the entrance.

He stood beside his car, looking noticeably more exhausted than the last time I’d seen him.

Rhys glanced between us. “Your father?”

I answered with a quiet hum. “Go upstairs first.”

He hesitated briefly before nodding. “I’ll delay tomorrow’s meetings.”

Once he disappeared into the building, I walked steadily toward Garrett.

He looked relieved the moment our eyes met. “Flourish. I sent you several messages.”

I folded my arms, suppressing the snarl that threatened to come from my wolf. “I saw them.”

“And?”

“I deleted them.”

Garrett’s expression stiffened. “You’ve become more and more disrespectful.”

A cold smile touched my lips. “So what if I have?”

He inhaled sharply before lowering his voice. “Lydia told me what happened.”

My smile disappeared instantly. “Oh?”

He shifted carefully, his expression hardening. “She said she only wanted you to meet her nephew. What is with the lies?”

I looked at him quietly. “And you believed her?”

He hesitated. “Flourish…”

Fuistied

“My wife drugged you?” he asked carefully, as though even saying the words sounded absurd. “That doesn’t sound like something Lydia would ever do. Are you certain there isn’t some misunderstanding?”

I stared at him for a very long moment, then I laughed. “Misunderstanding?”

I met his eyes without the slightest warmth. “She drugged me once before, and now she drugged me again. This time, she even arranged for her nephew to be waiting outside the

restroom.”

“I submitted surveillance footage, I submitted the hospital’s examination, I even submitted the toxicology report.”

“And after all that…” My voice remained calm, almost frighteningly so. “Your first instinct wasn’t to ask whether I was hurt.”

“It was to ask whether I’d misunderstood her.”

Garrett’s face paled. “I didn’t mean-”

“You did.” I cut him off gently. “You simply don’t realize it. You never have, and now I know you never will.”

Silence stretched between us.

Finally, Garrett rubbed his forehead. “If… if Lydia’s nephew truly crossed the line, he’ll apologize. We’re family, Flourish. There’s no need to make this uglier than it already is.”

For several seconds, I simply looked at the man

standing before me.

Then I smiled. It was the politest smile I had ever given him. “Family?”

My voice was almost gentle. “When Lydia drugged me, when she tried to hand me over to another man, when I nearly lost everything, did either of you remember we were family?”

Garrett opened his mouth, but not a single word came out.

I no longer waited for one.

Without another glance, I walked past him toward the entrance of FTech, leaving him standing alone beneath the fading evening sky.

By the time Garrett finally drove away, I remained standing outside FTech’s headquarters for

several moments, watching his car disappear into the evening traffic before quietly making my way back upstairs.

Family.

The word had never sounded so hollow.

Ever since Grandma passed away, I no longer had a home to return to. The Garret residence was nothing more than a house where my belongings happened to be kept, while Garrett himself had proven once again that blood alone meant nothing.

As long as Lydia shed a few tears and lowered her voice, every shred of evidence I presented became little more than a misunderstanding in his eyes.

So this was what selfishness looked like.

So this was how empty a father’s love could become.

I let out a quiet breath before pushing open the office door.

Rhys was still seated at the conference table, several holographic reports floating before him as he compared mineral supply figures from the Silvermoon Pack with FTech’s internal records.

He looked up when I entered. “Everything alright?”

I nodded once. “Let’s finish today’s work.”

He didn’t ask another question. Some silences deserved to remain untouched.

The two of us stayed well into the night, reviewing territory agreements, sorting patrol records, and organizing the intelligence we had gathered from the Silvermoon Pack before forwarding our conclusions to the appropriate departments for follow-up.

Only after the last report had been transmitted did Rhys stretch his sore shoulders and glance at the clock.

It was already eight in the evening.

“I’m starving,” he admitted with a helpless laugh. “There’s a restaurant downstairs that’s still open. Want to grab something before heading home?”

I was just about to answer when my phone vibrated.

The caller identification displayed a name that made my lips curl into the faintest smile.

Just as I’d expected. Lydia’s nephew had broken far sooner than I thought he would.

I answered the call without speaking.

A terrified male voice immediately echoed through the receiver.

“I already told you! I never drugged her! I swear!”

The next voice belonged to Deputy Commander Rowan of the Wolf Council’s Judicial Division.

His tone remained calm, though every word carried unmistakable pressure.

“If you didn’t drug her, then explain the toxicology report.”

Silence.

“We have surveillance footage placing you outside the women’s restroom.”

Another silence.

“We have medical records confirming that Miss Flourish was administered an illegal aphrodisiac.”

The young man began stammering.

“I… I…”

Deputy Commander Rowan continued without the slightest change in expression.

“So tell me. Were you planning to sexually assault her, or were you planning to force a mating?”
